    Detroit declines, offer not good.

Bear is a RD, we already have 4 of them.
    Turris have negative value.
Rodrigue isn't better than the prospects we have.
Detroit isn't giving up picks and have no need to trade Bertuzzi.

Thoughts on Yamamoto on that trade?

Oilers need more picks while Detroit needs less picks. Wouldn't make sense for both teams on that trade

That is probably enough but I don't see Holland offering that much for Bertuzzi. He knows what he is doing.

I like it, we both walk away unhappy with the deal. The best deals are sometimes the ones you don't make

Why would Detroit be surrendering picks here? Besides Yamamoto the rest is useless to us Bear has no value to us and neither do Rodrique and Turris who's a cap dump. Detroit easily declines this. Bertuzzi 1 for 1 for Yamamoto is pretty close you think the rest of those scraps returns Edmonton a 2nd and 3rd round pick No.

He just yells all the time. Thoughts are minimal. Yzerman is actually listening to offers on him. Id like to know what 4 Right shot D they have better then Bear also lmfao. And after his google search after reading this he will go look who Rodrigue is

So a 23yo top 4 Right shot D has no value to you?? Ok lmao. And turris is 1.65. Which most can be buried in minors. For a team with 48mil in cap space. Its MILES from a cap dump

The only decent piece in the whole deal is Yamamoto. The rest is meh and not a need let alone us giving up good picks for a bunch of nothing.

He could be one piece but you need to add more. McLeod + a 1st + Yamamoto will start the conversation.

No we've Hronek and Seider in our top 4 RD and Stecher if you honestly think Bear is better then any of them. You're sorely mistaken.

Well you obviously don't either, Yamamoto is a nice up and coming player who's benefit greatly from Connor McDavid his first season 26 points in 27 games was nice and then he regressed to 21 points in 52 games. he's still not in Bertuzzi's range yet on the worst scoring team in the NHL. Once again Bear is RD our strength is at RD Rodrique tell me what value he has to us another 3rd/4th line tweener and Turris who's a one year cap dump. it has nothing to do with overvaluing Bertuzzi this is a meh offer basically Yamamoto and a bunch of spare parts.

Yamamoto is a fine but detroit already has a bunch of prospects on the wing they needed centers. i like bear but as said above detroit already has Hronek Seider Stretcher and Lindstrom as RD turris is just a roster plug. detroit already has neilson for that. and on top of all that Detroit sends a 2nd and 3rd back to Edmonton? easy no from detroit

So i think the bert trade is probably close value wise but i don't love the deal for us. I like bear and yamamoto alot but if I had to trade bert and 2 picks I dont think this would be the deal id do.

Why take the 3rd round pick back from the Pens. U put Kappy on your top 6.?? And he’s still a RFA, still controllable. So why wouldn’t it cost Kassian and 1st for Kappy??

I think the Pens might do the 1st and Kassian for Kappy. But no way they give u that 3rd round pick back.

the penguins aren't doing that at all.
    A. they paid more for Kap,
    B. Kassian is a cap dump.
They aren't over here trying to rebuild with 1st round picks. There is no part of this that makes sense for them

Well ya, I agree that the old regime wouldn’t have taken that. No way. And that a “win now” team has little use to accrue a future 1st round pick or draft capital.

But Burke/Hextall sound like they want that draft capital back. Or to accrue draft capital. And they would get that plus a NHL roster player at the same position. Agree Kassian is on Kappy’s level or potential though. But not so much that the Pens paid more for Kappy.

    A 1st and a proven NHL player signed for 3 seasons is more than a 1st and a (B), (B-), (C+) prospect in Hallander.

Yes, Kassian would probably have to come with atleast 1M in retention too for his cap hit. But either way, what I was saying is that a 1st and Kassian atleast isn’t absurd. These are “ideas” and atleast to make the “idea” somewhat realistic, that’s what the deal would have to be in my opinion

I think there is .0000000000001 chance that any of these trades happen in real Life. But again, these are just ideas, for fun. And I’m Not gonna just answer “no way, you’re stupid”. Just make the idea realistic atleast and then u can debate it if u want.

How did that kid stay standing in that O’Mally fight..?? Jesus, he took some shoots. Bad stoppage too.

    A more simple proposal.

Bert for Holloway. Allows you to keep Bear & Yamamoto. Gives Detroit someone to potentially replace that gritty ness down the road. I don’t think Detroit should be targeting a 5’8” winger when they already have Raymond, Berggren, and Zadina at 6’ or less. Oiler fans will probably hate it but let’s see something can come to fruition.

No team in the history of ever, under any conceivable circumstances could use less draft picks.

I think Kassian holds negative value. I'll hold by that. That contract is bad. He's a 4th liner on most teams.
EDM would love to shed that contract for a reason. As much as the penguins would love to add some grit to their team, it's not on the 4th line that they want to add it. They need middle 6 guys capable of being that, and that isn't Kassian.
The only reason there isn't more outrage over that Kassian contract is the Neal contract they are carrying.
But 3.2 million per for 3 years, it would take a 1st to move that out alone.
As the penguins aren't rebuilding, there is no way they would take on that bad cap.
Hextall can do better with 3.2 million in cap than kassian. That's the real deal.

    So u think.

That said player, or said use of 3.2M still has to come and sign in pittsburgh or has to be traded for. It’s not just that easy.

Either way, it’s not the point. The point is it’s just another fans idea. As long as the value is realistic then whatever.

U can say u still don’t think the Pens would make that trade but again, it’s not the point.

I just said, to be realistic it would have to be a 1st and Kassian for Kappy in order for this it to even be realistic in my opinion.

I don't think it's as hard as you make it out to be. The cap is flat. teams are tight. There are a lot of guys not getting the deals they want and those at the top are still getting raises.
The league is shy in 4-6 million cap growth range. It's felt at the bottom and then the middle. We saw this last year with guys signing dirt cheap deals, especially forwards.
Truth is, I'd rather take that 3.2 mil cap and put it toward pitching for Goodrow or something than waste it on Kassian for 3 years.
Even if that Kassian deal was 1 year, it would be a last ditch effort and there is no way they are making the team worse by taking him in and trading a much better Kap. That's just absurd.
To say that's an "idea" is just ridiculous. I could trade Kap for McDavid and say it's an Idea....but most people would be like no, and that's that.
