Montreal asks if you partied with Kuznetsov last night cause there is no way this can be a serious proposal! 2-1sts 2-2nds a bottom 6 forward and a 4th! Why wouldn't we just trade for Killorn or sign Hall or Saad? It would make more sense than this ludicrous deal.

This is Bergevin we talking about He'll somehow make this trade be a big win for Montreal remember a year ago everyone (including me) said that the josh Anderson trade was terrible and look at it now

You just forget the fact that Bergevin isn’t trading future assets to win now

He probably is consider they just made the Stanley Cup Finals with the team they have now, plus Price isn't gonna be the same goalie 5 years from now that is he today, hell he started to regress from 2018. they got to because Jake Allen not gonna get this team back to the finals

Kuznetsov has three 70 point seasons, and was on a 76 point pace for March and April of 2021, after a slow start. Eichel has one 70 point season. Kuznetsov has an addiction. Eichel has a neck injury. Eichel is four years younger and scores more goals, so he's more valuable, four firsts to two and a half. Hall has two 70 point seasons but has said he's staying in Boston long term, regardless of money.

Killorn has zero 30 point seasons and is 32. Saad at 28, has three 50 point seasons, but none since he turned 24.

If the Habs move Tatar out, they have 20M of cap space to add six players. If they trade Byron (1M retained) for Killorn, they get Killorn by adding 2M to their cap number. That's a good idea.

With Danault a UFA and Kotkaniemi an RFA, I think the Habs most likely just sign those two long term and, along with Suzuki, call that good enough. But if they let Danault walk, bridge Kotkaniemi for four years, cheaply, and trade for Kuznetsov, they could have a lot more offense, and they might have cap space to sign Saad.

But the thing is Montreal doesn't want Kuznetsov anywhere near Romanov. He is not a good role model, therefore MontreL passes on any Kuznetsov trade.

True. Romanov is only 21 and might still be very impressionable. And how many drug education meetings do you want the team to sit through just out of fear that the new guy will start using again.

And there are lots of other three time 70 point centers on the market. There's Krejci, Thornton, Spezza, Marleau... you might even be able to get Datsyuk.
