Description

This core just can't seem to get it done. 2018 they were amazing and couldn't get it past Tampa. 2019 they were one of the few favourites that survived the first round and reached the Finals without too much difficulty but got beat by the Blues. 2020 Presidents trophy and once again couldn't get past the second round against Tampa. 2021 they outplayed the Isles especially in Boston, but yet lost in 6.
Swayman/Vladar or Swayman/cheap veteran backup that could play 1B will be the way to go. I still think Rask will re-sign and return sometime during the New Year. Say bye bye to Ritchie and Kate, they should be let go, but I have a feeling Sweeney is going to overpay Nick Ritchie. Mike Rielly should be re-signed as he is a decent Top 4 defence man that can play on both on PP and PK.

"This core just can't seem to get it done" Bruins lost because of lack of quality depth, not because of their core. Their core was actually the reason why they went this far. Also Hall on the 4th line??

Ultra dumb statement to say the core can’t get it done. Its a high variance game. When you’re getting to multiple finals, you’re clearly capable of getting it done.

Like saying goodbye to Ritchie and Kase. Reilly is a journeyman 3rd pair D that had a career year last year. If you have Stanley Cup aspirations you sign 2 legitimate top 4 D and not Reilly.
