For that amount of money, the Canucks will only get 2 years term on Hughes, but I like the combined $14M for him and EP. Maybe $15M max. Too many people looking to overpay them on the ACGM site.

What's with the huge cap dump for Vegas? They're tight to it, but giving up a player like Smith for nothing seems unlikely. McNabb maybe, but both of them? I doubt it.

they need to sign 5 players, 1 of which is Martinez, whom they like very much and they need a true center that drives play.
Only $6m of cap space to do this.

Tuch can replace Reilly on the second line.

If Vegas wants to take a real shot at the cup, they'll do a deal to dump M-AF's cap hit before giving away Smith. Tuch is solid, but they want to roll three lines.

quick check of their depth shows they can replace Tuch $5m 3rd line role internally and cheaper and be the same effective 3 line attack.
how has $5m forwards on 3rd lines work out for anyone?

they may move from MAF as well, but they wouldnt have beaten Colorado if it was for him....

Vegas' future in goal is Lehner, this is the year that they embrace that. They'll sign a legit back-up for up to $2M, and hope to dump M-AF's $7M off on someone by combining a high draft pick or prospect.

Heard this all last year and the two players we “gave away” struggled.

I can guarantee you were not packaging Mcnabb and Smith together for a 3rd to a pacific division team

Lol we didn’t package a 3rd. It was also only one player. Sure we could trade Mcnabb for a 2nd/3rd. Teams would be very interested in him with such a small cap hit.

Using our cap is a lazy excuse to something that won’t happen.

Sure. Maybe in your dream world. But Rielly and McNabb will be traded. And for below market value.
