I'd think that's too much $ for Arizona to take on considering they apparently don't want to pay Garland. Probably keep Henrique and move Reinhart somewhere else for futures. Can maybe then flip those for Garland or some other RW solution.

Eichel return is underwhelming but realistic (and I'd call it acceptable considering).

I can't argue with the Eichel trade (except on a philosophical basis -- I don't believe it's prudent to trade for him prior to Game 42 of the new season), but I don't see Tampa Bay, of all teams, making a trade for a guy who takes away two ELC-slots' worth of cap space.

Sabres can retain on Henrique but his return counts for Eichel
Eichel return includes Steenburgen and the Ari 2nd, i feel Reinhart could go for Garland 1 for 1

Canes accept.

That Martinez contract is brutal..probably close to double what he gets in term & $s. What’s the point of signing him to that? By the time you’re out of rebuilding he’ll be yet another anchor contract.

I figure Tampa will have their cap figured out already to make this trade

I was trying to make the Martinez contract as over the top as possible. The Sabres need veteren dmen to guide their young ones. They have way too many young dmen.

I get it, and that contract definitely makes him think even if he doesn’t want to go play for BUF. I just think you can find other options bc this will be a huge regret in 2 years imo. Hell if you’re spending that much on Martinez, throw 10M at dougie over 8 years. You’ll get closer to the value your spending money on in that scenario.

I dont think Dougie would consider Buffalo, he asked out in Boston and Calgary?

Yeah I don’t think he would either but every body has a number potentially? I mean if Martinez comes to BUF for that deal maybe Dougie would for a dramatic overpay too
