I'd want the pick to be higher. Schmidt is the best of these defenseman and not by only the difference of TVR. But on the other side WSH can't likely afford the cap increase. Don't think this works for either side.

What about Jack Rathbone? He's clearly ready for the NHL. Should be at least on your bottom pair. I think the WSH deal makes some sense although I think the CAPS need to give a bit more. Maybe add in a 3rd rounder.

Rathbone plays - so no Edler or Dillion

You spent $4m on Edler and Bozak, both are too slow and that game has passed them. There is better cheaper options available for Bozak - Edler - Leivo and Hamonic.
