That’s a pretty easy decline by the avs

They give up the 3 best pieces for all downgrades, doesn’t do anything for them

15-19-27 doesnt get 7 and a high second in a good draft imo. There such a drop off after 9 that those picks mean pretty little to me.

Will will not do this. Taren't going to trade Carson soucy just to lose Matt dumba. They are keeping one of dumba, and or soucy

Kadri > Strome
Foudy > Robertson
1st obviously > 2nd

Why does COL do that trade? Answer they wouldn’t.

Strome has had better numbers then Kadri over the past three seasons. And it’s not just playing with Panarin, he did it on the third line when he arrived then kept scoring when Panarin was out. Robertson is better then Foudy and close to nhl ready. Going to need a big lefty d man after you lose Graves to Seattle. So we do get the higher pick back

Minny is not losing Dumba to Seattle. They’re going to ask Suter or Parise to waive NMC for expansion draft because they won’t be selected. Maybe even trade or buyout Parise if he’s not happy with his role. They’ll go 7-3-1 if Suter waives and 4-4-1 if Parise does. If they go 4-4-1 it’ll be either Soucey, Greenway or Talbot getting selected

I know it’s tough to trade into top 10 and agree there’s a pretty consensus top 9 in this draft. Figured SJ was at the end of that top 9 and only team there that could use some stocking for prospects. Still pull a good player and probably a goalie in Cossa with the 15/19. Thought all 3 firsts for the 7 was a little too much

Kadri has significantly better shot share metrics, whilst Strome outperformed his typical scoring significantly since Panarin arrived. COL’s deepest position is defense as they have Toews, Girard and Byram on the left side why would they want Robertson at all. But let me get this straight you think Strome is better than Kadri, Robertson better than Foudy, and yet COL will give up the higher draft pick, so you are willing taking a trade to get worse to move up half a round in picks? 🤔

Strome is not a better Center than kadri, lets be serious. If he was better than Kadri as you claim then you wouldnt be trading for him
Foudy played in the AHL last year and produced, and his production as an 18 year old was remarkable. So no Robertson isnt better than Foudy or is more NHL ready compared to Robertson who had a meh Dev-1 year in the WHL. Toews Byram and Girard are all lefties, what lefty do we need again?

Edmonton declines. Koskinen and Georgiev are basically a wash performance-wise, so you're saving a little money for 1 year and moving Kassian and a 1st for nothing.

Normally they would be but this draft is pretty weak after the top 9 and the sharks need a blue chip guy rather than depth so it doesn’t really make any sense unless they really like someone who’s around later more than a top guy.

What?!

Kassian, koshkinen and neal are our 3 toxic contracts, getting rid of 2 of them is well worthwhile in my opinion.

In addition, at least Georgiev is a good enough 1b goalie https://www.hockey-reference.com/players/g/georgal01.html he's always been above 0.9 sv%, plus he's 25. Koskinen has repeatedly been under .9 sv% and is much older. I see this as an oil favourable deal.

- There's nothing here about Neal
- Over the past 2 years Koskinen and Georgiev have performed very similarly, so that's a wash IMO (except for the cap hit)
- Kassian played injured this season so I take his results with a grain of salt. Over the past 2-3 seasons he's performed well above his cap hit, which is comensurate with an above average 3rd liner which he is when healthy

None of these moves are worth a 1st.
