Several of these teams don't have any cap space as it is. Is Tarasenko coming with 50% retention?

I just can’t see a guy that’s been sidelined for basically two years getting that kind of return.

Haha. Their comparable trades are such a bad start.

Vegas could barely add Tarasenko at 50% not at 100%

Isles are out if that's the price tag. Dobson will be a benefit for years after Tarasenko's contract expires. Also, how would we fit all 7.5 mil under the cap if there's no contract going back the other way?

If Tarasenko could ever stay healthy, than i'd consider it. But otherwise the Rangers aren't in a situation to be sending away an NHL-ready top prospect for an injury riddled former star who costs 7.5 mil against a flat cap, in a division with scumbags like Tom Wilson (who would immediately target said injury)

Hard to trade Tarasenko right now. A.) Injuries B.) $7.5M cap hit C.) He wants out...which limits the return.

Rutherford does nice articles about personalities but he has zero insight on trade stuff. He’s never an insider on trades so where he’s pulling this from only he knows.

Over the past 2 seasons he’s scored at a 58 point pace. Couple that with the potential to return to his old self now that he has had proper surgery on his shoulder and playing beside his best friend and there’s a lot to like about him. The Rangers aren’t pressed for cap space and if his injuries flared again, he can be placed on LTIR and his cap hit disappears

Lou wouldn't include Dobson in a trade for Stone but he's going to trade him for an injured Tarasenko. Just a brutal out of touch take...

Pace schmace. He's scored 7 actual goals over the past 2 seasons, so @FreeTacosAreBestTacos point stands: he can't stay healthy.

That’s the beginning of the hottest take I’ve seen. You really think STL would take him as an equivalent to Kravs?

These packages are terrible. An injured player isn't going to get that type of return. Maybe with 50% retention, you'll get something, but nowhere close to these.
