Well yeah I can't imagine Buffalo going wanting Marner over Eichel tbf but if Eichel wanted out due to the ongoing dispute about his neck injury then who knows. Although Kerfy is actually a pretty good player and if Bertuzzi doesn't want to sign on again then maybe it could happen but these are just my musings and I wanted feedback and I got it so thanks.

I've heard that he wouldn't be too bad on the wing but I've probably heard that from someone who isn't too clued up on Hockey lol.

With regards to Hyman I'm banking on the 'Hometown discount' and with no Hyman and going for Oleksiak you could probs give a bit more to Bertuzzi and Foligno but lets be real Detroit ain't winning anything anytime soon (Bar Miracle on Ice Episode 2) so maybe you could get him for less than what detroit might offer (base salary only) with promises of sucess but idk

This season is Hyman's last in his 20s, and he's coming off his most productive season - scoring on almost a 30 goal pace per 82 games - so his advisors are telling him to be smart and cash in. Go to the team willing to pay the highest price for the longest period of time.

We as fans often forget that this is a business first and foremost. Players need to make the most amount of money they can during their career, and only when they get above 35 and are still serviceable do you see them doing deals like Thornton or Spezza are doing.

Yeah, you're right. Still, up Bertuzzi to 4 mil (he's Hyman but better imo and more gritty and younger). And what do you reckon Foligno would go for, idk with where he's at in his career if he gets more than 2 mil and if we don't get him I'd take Ryan Getzlaf but I don't think there's any interest from either party.

I think Foligno takes a 2 x $2M deal with Toronto and tries to win a cup. He would easily get that from half a dozen teams, but I think he liked it in Toronto.

Getzlaf is interesting. I think he signs Joe Thornton-like deals, 1 x $1M to chase another cup as well. Maybe goes to Tampa to fill a hole left by Gourde or Cirelli if they have to be moved.

Bertuzzi is better than Hyman, as Hyman played with Marner and Matthews and had his stats juiced these past few years. Someone will overpay for him. The Leafs will need to give more than Kerfoot to get Bert though....a lot more.
