alright lets try unpack this. flames are flush with left shot d, romanov would be taking away minutes from valimaki, no need for that, drouin could be a fine piece in calgary but there is no need to move anything significant for him. kotkaniemi has been scratched in the most important series in his young career, i dont know what part of that would be attractive to any team takin him on in a trade.

Maybe take out the cap dumps -

Tkachuk for Kotkaniemi/Romanov/1st

Take off Lucic and keep that 6M on your salary cap, it don't matters to me (I would likely just resign Armia).
Romanov and KK are two excellent prospects, Drouin carries no value, he's there to balance cap, but still he can play a top 6 role to fill a jersey.

No still no. You may not like it but one of his linemates here(Caufield or Suzuki) would 100% have to be coming back. Tkachuk isn't available he doesn't want out.

Plus its not 6 mill its 5.25 mill. Edmonton retained on Lucic in the Neal for Lucic swap

MTL doesnt as his cost isnt in our comfort zone.

Its much more cost efficient to target Mike Hoffman for less Cap most likely.
Nick Foligno is another player who plays a similar style to Tkachuk while offering Leadership and faceoff Ability making him a great Utility Player like a Swiss Army Knife

For every Tkchuk trade i see
I see a cheaper option where we dont have to lose our team needlessly

If im targeting anyone its a LD or RD in a trade.
There's few options in Free Agency in that respect
TONS of Wingers to the point guys who would have made 5-6 million years past are making 4 million or less to play on Contenders.

D are the targets you want to spend your assets on
You'd be foolish to trade away D for wingers
