How the hell is that not enough to acquire Georgiev? Liljegren alone is worth more than him.

I agree, I saw some other Rangers fan post this trade but without Vehni Venhillian and I think it's fair. Lilly could be even a 4/5 defenseman someday soon and he's still young. I just think the Leafs need more stability in goal. Plus Georgy being an RFA next year helps.

Defence prospects are the last of the Rangers' needs, but a 4/5 defenceman like Lilly in exchange for Georgiev is a sweet deal for New York in my eyes. Georgy is about a 2nd round pick but I think Lilly is more than that.

The NYR trade is *not the right pieces

The other is *not enough

You guys misunderstood what I was saying. The value is fine for the NYR trade, the issue with it is the pieces. And ya, He is probably enough on his own(value).

Realistically a 2nd or Lilly would work if we flipped him. 3 team trade. Again it’s all hypotheticals, the value is there but with our prospect pool it’s likely not the best place for him so additional moves would need to happen. Amirov, Robertson, Lilly and Sandin would get him and some of those are overpayment for sure, maybe all. Also any of them could be flipped or kept while we slip out drafted guys. Deal works fine now that I sit back, just needs more leg work on our end.
