If Duncan Keith has value at a similar AAV for 2 years, then Drouin ought to be worth a fortune.

From an ANA perspective, I'd like to see them trade Silfverberg (plus 4th), Fowler (plus more from MTL), Shattenkirk (plus more from ANA). I think Drouin could do well in ANA (small market, away from spotlight)

there have been a lot of mocks of calgary taking on drouin, i dont mind it if he comes in and plays bottom 6 with backlund. most i would want to see given up is maaaaaybe a third, and like a florida third that should be in the bottom 10 of the draft. or a a 4th and a lottery ticket prospect like rory kerins

oilers trades should be exempt from setting market value. They stink at it.
First it was 1 for 1 Hall Larsson and now this?

If 38 year old broken down 5m cap hit Keith can get a younger Dman with better underlying stats and a 3rd round pick....a 5m Tyler Johnson trade return is going to make tampa 3 peat.

Drouin's market value will only be set when he explains 1) why he walked away from his team and stayed away; and, not unrelated, 2) why any GM should accept that he won't do it again. At the moment, I would say his market value is ZERO because no owner in the league is going to take on $11M in real salary on a player who might never get his act together.

Drouin doesnt have zero value because hes not a good player...

He has zero value because hes currently on LTIR for personal reasons and there is no way of knowing if he'll ever play again.

If Drouin comes out next month and says "ok i feel great now, lets play some hockey", he'll have his back value again. Maybe not as much as Hans paid to get him but he'll have some value.

Its not the skill level. Its the uncertainty of his career.
