Mitchell is a B prospect at best in our system and hardly a difference-maker when talking about trading a #1D, "conditional on signing" isn't allowed anymore as of the 2020 CBA renegotiation, and "Alty" is meaningless noise. And Strome adds zero to the trade - he's not an upgrade on any of the centers we're already struggling with and needs a high-powered transition winger to make his game useful (so he won't fit with Laine, who needs a transition center). Doing that for Foudy alone would be questionable - we're getting more "raw value" with the pick and Mitchell, but we're trading away from areas we badly need (centers, fast transition game). Having that as a Jones trade, with Foudy included? That would be a strong contender for the worst trade in Jackets franchise history, and we've had some really g-dawful ones.
