IF we lose Chiarot to ED then adding Leddy makes a bit of sense as a stop gap. I want Hall or Saad over no D Hoffman or too much risk Eichel! I would love to add Dvorak IF Danault is done in Montreal. Definitely NO to Dubnyk.

I dont think there is a chance that we don't sign Danault after this past playoff performance. They need a Quebecois marquee player and he's too valuable for what he does. Only reason deal isnt done is because of expansion protection lists. He'll get his money now and term

We need goals. Hoffman helps the pp and 5V5, sniping. That would make the two top lines pretty solid

He shouldn't though, he should get between 4.5-5 Mil on an 8 year deal. He doesn't provide enough offense (even in his career year) to warrant any more. Danault is NOT a Marquee name though he is not PLD, Martha, Huberdeau or Lafreniere and Montreal does not HAVE to have a Quebecois player on the team. They HAVE to have the best players available in the best positions possible. It is stupid to build a team based on political or social pressure. Imagine if Vancouver only wanted native Canadians on their team!

1. Hoffman is possible because he tried to get him last offseason AFTER Toffoli signing but the cap wasn’t working
2. Ducharme doesn’t like Kulak for a reason we don’t know, and Bergevin always liked Leddy (ex-CHI player) and he is a puck moving dman who can log minutes (GMs like that even if they are meh)
3. He will overpay Danault we all know that. Everything 5M and more would end up being an overpay over 4 years. He overpaid Price, after Byron, after Gallagher, now it’s Danault’s turn.
4. We need to stop believing Seattle aren’t picking Allen

He's getting more than 5m. You are in denial if you believe what youre saying. Montreal isnt like other organisations, everyone knows this. I dont see what you're trying to say. Yes, in an ideal world, heritage wouldnt matter BUT it does matter in Montreal

I just don't think he is a viable option, I would rather keep Allen or sign just about any other FA goalie. Dubnyk has just not been very good over the last 3 seasons even in a backup role. I know he was sought after last year but I would hope thatMB sees him having 3 bad seasons in a row at 35 and thinks that he dodged a bullet there.

Agreed too many ppl put stock in options GMs should pursue rather than what is a realistic outcome after past transactions from said GM
