Can't make trades conditional on him re-signing. If he's traded without having agreed to an extension, you can't get more out of the deal on the basis of him re-signing at a later date.

New CBA says you can’t make conditions on picks based on a player resigning.

Also Columbus declines that extremely easy.

I wouldn't do that trade for Gavrikov alone, let alone with Jones. There's nothing there of value to the Jackets.
