You can keep Kassian and his crappy contract. I would much rather bank on Jarry bouncing back from a bad playoff than acquire a 3 mill 4th liner who doesn't even kill penalties.

I saw this rumored yesterday, it was a reputable source but I couldn't find the exact quote. I'll try and find the link to it. And I think people make too much of Kassian's one bad season, for the 3 previous seasons he was 30th in 5on5 scoring in the NHL ahead of Matthew Tkachuk of all people.

If you could find it that would be great.

From 2017-2018 to 2019-2020 Kassian had 71 points at 5v5, which was good enough for 178th in the league. During that time his most common linemates were McDavid and Draisaitl. I would hope he would produce playing with those two. Oh and Matthew Tkachuk had 99 points at 5v5 during that span.

I mean, but even in just goals his 34 during that span is less than Matthew Tkachuk's 42. It ties him with Brady Tkachuck, but Brady played 70 less games than Kassian during that span.

Found the stats I was looking at, of course this doesn't tell the whole story and I'm not saying that he's as good of a player as these others in this class. But I don't think he's as bad as last season looked.
Looking at per-sixties, Among players with at least 1500 minutes played over the past 3 years, Zack's G/60 is in range with some pretty decent company:

Malkin: 0.83 G/60
Niederreiter: 0.83
Hoffman: 0.83
Fiala: 0.83
Crosby: 0.82
Scheifele: 0.80
Nugent-Hopkins: 0.80
Pavelski: 0.80
Gurianov: 0.80
Wilson: 0.79
Monahan: 0.79
Eichel: 0.78
JT Miller: 0.78
Barzal: 0.78
Landeskog: 0.78
Giroux: 0.78
Kassian: 0.78
M Tkachuk: 0.77
Marner: 0.77
Kapanen: 0.76
Mantha: 0.75
Seguin: 0.74
O'Reilly: 0.73
Svechnikov: 0.73
Laine: 0.73
Zucker: 0.73

Eastern Conf fans always want an answer to Tom Wilson, but when one is offered they turn up their noses.

One inconsistency I see here (not saying Holland wouldn't do it, just that it doesn't compute): trading assets for Keith at full cap hit for his 'proven playoff leadership' and then signing Tatar to play in the top-6, who was healthy scratched for most of Montreal's playoff run and most of Vegas' 2018 run.

He's now missed 29 of his teams' last 52 playoff games and scored 23, 3-2-5 when he did play.

I think he could be a value pick up on the Wing, I personally would like to see better but they used too much cap space with the Keith deal. I worry they won't have the space to keep Nurse if they sign a better winger.

I'm hoping Schwartz wants to re-build his value on a 1-year deal ala Barrie. He has injury issues but he'll go to the wall for the team in the playoffs.

He would be my choice but I don't see him coming here, I think he'll have a few other offers. But I think he would be great with Conner. I wonder if they'll make a play for Saad now?

Could be.
Why do you think Saad is likely to go to Edmonton but not Schwartz?

Never said that he's likely to go to the Oilers just wondering if they'll look a little harder at him. I just see Ken over paying to get him now that he has Keith, from what I heard Keith was really up set over Saad and Corey Crawford when they were moved from the Hawks. That doesn't really mean a lot just spit balling.

Schwartz and Coleman would be my top choices personally. Hyman would be nice but I think he'll want too much. I'd like to see them add something on the right side too and push Yamo down to the 3rd line. I'm thinking they might do a little bargain shopping this year on 1 year deals to fill some holes.
I might be wrong on Schwartz and I hope I am but I think he'll stay with the Blues if he takes a discount.
