Description

Take cap dumps this summer, stockpile asstes, and save money for Jones or Lindholm next summer. Jones seems pretty set on testing the UFA market anyways. Saving our assets makes a lot more sense considering Stan announced we were rebuilding only 1 year ago, and it buys you a year to asset where your young dmen at at in their development

I know Wild fans are pretty split on Strome. I truly believe he's a .75 ish ppg scorer on a line with Krill. He's an upgrade for you over rask and a much better offensive fit next to Krill than JEE is

No, Minnesota says no very easily. You know what your doing by putting 2022 instead of 2021 , when wild have two 1st round picks

Wild rather keep their 1st round pick, or 2nd round pick in one of the best draft next year in a long while than trade it especially to a division rival for a player whose slow, and worse than Rask to the point Dylan strome was bench this season.

Our gm also likes smart players which is why he defended Victor Rask so hard

I like the idea of waiting a year, it seems like Seth Jones isn’t interested in a sign and trade so maybe we can get him in free agency without loosing assets.

You can give a 2021 1st instead. Rask + 2021 1st is cool with me. And by the way you don't know what you're talking about. Strome was never benched. Missed some time with a concussion but was never benched. And he's definetly better than rask. I see wild fans buy out rask all the time lol

Alex Nylander and Kurashev need to switched around. Also we have Suter Borgstrom, Reichel, and the other Slavin playing quite well so going out and trading for a 3C when we have options at 3C seems like an unnecessary logjam. Overall like the roster and Holtby is a cup winning veteran who can probably help push Lankinen so wise choice on that for sure.

Dylan strome isn't worth more than a 3rd round pick right now. At best a 2nd. Wild aren't just going to trade for a slow player like Dylan strome. Also one good year doesn't mean much. For example Max Domi

Definitely wait the year if CBJ wants the 1st or Boqvist. CBJ can wait until the TDL and get the 30th pick in 2022 if they want. The Hawks will have options of Lindholm, Jones, Rielly...heck even Pullock, Ekholm, Nurse...stocked free agency at D next summer

He had concussion issues and the coach didn’t deploy him correctly. You can’t only judge a players value by if they were scratched or not this season. There are tons of players that have gone from being scratched in one place to making a meaningful impact in the other. A common factor is often how that player is used.

Another Dylan strome to wild by another Chicago fan posted below has this conversations, and more. You are also talking about a player whose apparently fallen out of favor with your coaching staff

Usually those types of players don't go for a 1st round pick

Agree that it would foolish to sign and trade Jones, as he won't be leading the Hawks deep in the playoffs. Jut my opinion, some team is going to really overpay for Jones as a UFA....so if you're a Hawks fan, best not to sign him at all and don't compound the problem by giving up good young asset too.
