Value is off or it's not what they need?

I feel like Arizona needs to start from scratch so a package of picks gets the ball rolling.
Value-wise I think it is close. The third could be changed to a second. It is better value than we are getting for Monahan since the first is 12th vs 24th.

Another package I would consider would be around one of our young players/prospects and a second (dube/zary/pelt + 2nd)

We still do not want Monahan. Certainly not for a 1st and our only NHL-ready RD prospect.

That's like... your opinion man...

I can understand not wanting to give up your only RD ready prospect. Could remove him and ruzizka but I would want a small add from CBJ.
I think a late first and a middle 6 forward for a 26 year old top 6C on contract is a steal personally.

This trade doesn't even have to be with Columbus. I just wanted a decent cheap young middle 6 forward and a late first, or something equivalent, to make this roster work. Columbus has picks to spare and desperately needs a top 6 C.

I'll try to chime in as a Coyotes fan. I agree with everything that you said. The value makes it hard to say no and they need picks, as well as having said they are going into a rebuild/retool. He is also on the verge of not fitting the age range and has a lot of value. But at the same time he is still rather young and signed to a great contract and is by fair Arizona's most reliable center and their depth at the center position is really bad, making it quite difficult to move him, hence why one poster maybe said we would decline. Another reason could be that Arizona's beat writer yesterday said that Dvorak may be our best chance at getting a top 4 RHD and perhaps in this case that could be our preferred target in any trade for him, while our other trade baits will most likely be for picks and futures, as you said. A long answer without a definitive answer, but I think we are in a peculiar place with him.

Yea that all makes sense. Coyotes in general are in a peculiar place so it will be fascinating to see what they do. They have some really good young pieces but they need to keep adding to it through the draft. The loss of draft picks really hurts and I believe they need to recoup some. Like you said though, from Arizona's perspective maybe Dvorak isn't the place to start recouping picks. I do think he is one of Arizonas more desirable players because of his age, cap hit and skill set.

Columbus has picks to spare. Lmfao. Columbus needs all the picks they can get after having arguably the worst prospect pool in the league.

Also Monahan isn’t worth a top 20 pick and Bremstrom to Columbus, with 2 year left on his contract and Columbus likely starting a rebuild. They would be smart to keep what they have as Monahan will be gone by the time they are competitive again.

I don't really care if it is CBJ. I was just looking at a team that needs a top 6 C, has picks and a good/cheap/young middle 6 player.
I guess it depends on what Columbus is trying to do. If they are burning it down, then you're right it doesn't make sense.

If that's the direction, does Bjorkstrand become available?

There is literally no circumstance on this Earth under which Bjorkstrand becomes available to the Flames.

No, Bjorkstrand is almost untouchable at this point. Columbus has a hard time getting players to stay and signing your best player to a long term extension and trading him before he plays a game on said extension is kinda shooing yourself in the foot, yes you get a good return for him, but you also show other players why stay there if they are just going to trade me after signing an extension.

That's a logical perspective
