Detroit isn't retaining $3.75M in real dollars over 2 seasons on a guy that won't touch the ice in a red & white jersey for a 3rd (and 7ths lol).

my bad misread still DET takes that I love DET and would do that deal for both sides. They are freed of the contract as soon as they start contending again.

Martin is interchangeable with any decent 4th line grinder Just put him in as he's the first player that came to mind, didn't know how much isles fans overrated him lmao

To put those figures into context, Detroit retained Savard for a roughly 200k for a 4th rounder. Acquired Staal at 3.2M cash and 5.7M AAV for a second rounder while icing him for 18+ minutes a night. Another factor is teams are limited to three retention slots so this would take one of those slots for 2 years. This offer isn’t enticing or even fair market value.

you say blues pass on every trade that is not a severe overpay. Tarasenko is worth around a late first or a 2nd without retention.

1- False. I've said accept to numerous trades today alone. If I always so no to your offers, maybe that's something to consider.

2- The Blues are not handing over Tank and retaining half for draft picks and a 4th liner. Obviously.

Tarasenko is broken. Zadorov is just bad. Lindholm is over rated and Martin sucks. Good free agent signings though.

I think your gunna be extremely disappointed in the actual return for him when it happens. You are literally the only blues fan that has given me any trouble for my Tarasenko trades. He is barley worth a first w/o retention you get a future 3C who can still grow and a 3rd for the retention which can be changed to something of equal value if you decide to not rebuild.

Tarasenko could bounce back and at a hit of under 2 mil is worth the risk. Zadarov is a decent shutdown guy but I will agree there are better options Lindholm is fairly rated if not slightly overrated and Martin is a solid 4th line grinder.

Fair enough though Zadorov isn’t good at anything. I’d rather have more a sure thing if I’m all in than Tarasenko.
I’d rather Sweeney try to pry Hertl out of San Jose.
