That would be a crazy but interesting idea.

I am sure there is likely a better option but TBH its not that outlandish.

Duchene didn't have a very good start when Laviolette was coaching in Nashville, so I doubt they'd want to try that merger again. Although I'm definitely intrigued as to what him and Mantha could do on a line together.

This is such a big gamble for us but I think Fabbro makes it worth it. Duchene had a worse season than Kuznetsov, granted the Preds are a worse team than the caps. Duchene also has an extra year on his contract. Kuznetsov is poised to have a bounce back season, just based on how hot he was in his last 20 regular season games. Duchene is a coin flip. He could get back to his regular 65 point pace seasons or he could stay around 30 points in a season and completely bone us.

Fabbro is incredibly valuable though, so I would strongly consider this move.

Off-ice antics are overblown. Kuznetsov is an elite center. Half the league is doing coke, he just happened to be caught on video with it in the picture. And the COVID issues were more than just Kuzy, all the Russian guys got in trouble for it at the start of the season for the caps.

No, it’s overblown. He’s not getting traded below fair value. We will keep him if it’s the best decision for the team (spoiler alert: it is unless someone overpays)

Youre just saying its overblown cause ur a caps fan: all the reports have been “caps are tired of kuzys off ice antics and looking to trade him”

No I’m saying it’s overblown because these narratives that he’s a locker room cancer and he’s a coke head are garbage and that the GM has publicly said we are only trading him if it makes the team better. We’re not trading him below value. I’ve done plenty of research on the situation and followed it closely, I think I know a bit more than you do about it.
