Description
Ok, so I know this is long shot scenario but after listening to the podcast this afternoon via the Columbus Dispatch, they briefly mentioned the Jackets looking for elite offense and the need for a number one center. The Islanders are in flux. They are playing better but are not likely at all to make the playoffs. Now they also are dealing with the arena issue with the Barclays Center. Wondering if the Jackets would be willing to trade Dubois if it brought the organization Tavares. He would solidify all the aforementioned criteria. Now, Tavares says he is not looking to leave and I don't question him. But this seems like a fair deal in the fact that the Islanders have stated they are not interested in rebuilding, this seems like it gives the Islanders more to work with while still remaining competitive. Any comments? Be reasonable please.

I'd have to get a guarantee from Tavares and his agent that they'd re-sign with the CBJ before trading for him. Gotta think that bringing Tavares in would really screw our long term cap too. Still fun to think about nonetheless.

Not sure if NYI would want Murray since their blue line is in a bit of a log jam.

As an Isles fan, NYI isn't moving Tavares... this season. If they do horribly next season as well, maybe. They owe it to Tavares to at least try to make their roster work before trading him off to the highest bidder.

Thats a good point. The only question is does NYI lose leverage if the team does flop next year?
