I think he could get the tanev contract from someone.

i think so too, but not if he wants to be an islander. they cant afford that.

He will be gone then. Don't underpay him for 4 years

an underpay is paying a 4th line center over 2 mill taking him to his age 34 season. ok lol

5.5 million for a guy whos played 34 games the past 3 years feels like a lotto ticket to me. tbh

That's what everyone keeps saying as they mock up trades that they think upgrade their team.

34 in 2 yrs*. Dude had a messed up shoulder. Also had 30+ goals for 5 seasons before that. Yes he's a lotto ticket, but this whole deal is a huge W for NYI. Dunn and tarasenko for 8m total and the Blues get age 31-33 eberle for 8m, 2 projects, and some picks in the 50s. How bout the 2nd rd picks for VT at 7.5 and sweet lou figures out the cap from there?

I dont even want Tarasenko, i want garland. but right now theyre connected to Tarasenko so i mocked a trade, for a first line winger and a couple lotto tickets.

Fair enough. I don't expect much for VT, I just dont like the thought of retaining that much and taking on another contract. Maybe one or the other.

Garland is a hell of a player.

I see it and I guess it works. I'm having a hard time being rational tbh, Dunn and Tarasenko are prob my 2 favorite Blues and this offseason is pure pain. Looking at this original deal here, it isnt even that bad. I think the Blues need more help at LW than anything so that's why Eberle doesn't sound all that appealing. But hey, 3 yrs of Ebs might be smarter than freeing up the cap and giving 7 yrs to someone who doesnt deserve it (like Armstrong loves to do lately)

12 year old me would be so happy if they got him

this is what I mean - guy writes an article about Parise being a boost to the powerplay, the wild didn't even put him on either unit last season despite being a bottom 5 PP team in the league.

I'm at the point where anything over the league minimum is gonna be an overpay. Pray Lou has learned his lesson about bonuses.

I talked so much sh*t about parise because I didn't want lou to trade for him, but I guess I wouldn't care if it's something like 1 year 1 mill. He wouldn't be my first choice but he's still a good 3rd liner. The thing that bothers me is when these idiots act like he's a gamechanger.
