I could see Suter getting a contract like that for 2 years as he still has something left in the tank. The Parise one seems way too high though. He was a 4th liner/scratch the end of the season for the Wild. He showed he had something left in the tank in the playoffs, but I don't see him getting more than a 1 year $1.5M offer at most. It could even be lower than that if it's for a contending team which is what I assume both of them will be looking for.

Yeah, I had the same conversation with my friend earlier today. However, I think Parise is only effective if he can play top-six minutes so it will be hard for him to get to a contender. You are right though, he'll probably sign for far less than what I've put.

I have a question for you that I’ve been wanting to ask a Kings fan. What would you be willing to give up for Zuccarello, if anything? He has a NMC this year, so it’s somewhat irrelevant but I could see him filling that LW spot for the kings. I could see us retaining 1M or so.

So the future Kings lines (1-2 years from now if everything goes according to plan) looks like it will be something like : L1: Turcotte-Byfield-Kaliyev; L2: Iafallo-Kopitar-Arvidsson; L3: Andersson-Vilardi-Kempe L4: Madden-JAD-Thomas.

I think Zucs doesn't really fit what they want, which is a 1-2 year top-6 player (on a contract less than 2 years) to be a temporary fill until one of their prospects can take their spot. If Zucs was around $3M he'd be perfect for a playoff team with a closing window gearing to go the distance, but that's not the Kings right now.

Ok cool, thanks for the detail. Yeah Zuccs contract just seems to be 1 year too much and 2M too expensive...for anyone not even just the Kings. He’s still very good obviously, but tough pill to swallow in a flat cap. I was just kinda thinking that since he’s not a Guerin signing and given the events of today, I’m wondering if BG would like him gone. So I started looking at places that may be looking for a LW vet, and Kings made some sense.

Like you said, maybe a contender. And maybe next year when his NMC drops to a 10 team.

Yeah you said it man, this flat cap has really hurt everyone. I really am curious to see why the Wild made these buyouts, I see a big move coming for a team who really made a jump last season.

Here's a possible scenario: Minnesota is actually the only team wiling to risk making an Eichel trade before the 2021 draft, without seeing him play half a season, and offers Boldy, Rask and two firsts.

Agree with you both. Certainly feels like this isn’t the end of the offseason for MIN haha. Dreger speculated today that they’ll make an offer for Eichel. I could see it being very very similar to what you just suggested.

Also sorry to hijack your thread 😶
