Crazy idea from BG

Description
A crazy idea to use the newfound cap space to our advantage, honestly, i might have even undersold the value here, it might take 3 first-rounders to get out From Bobs deal. Also after this year, we would trade Zucc next offseason freeing up 6 million. for the next 3 years, we would have 14 total picks in the top 100, with 10 of those in the first 2 rounds. The Idea here would be to build our Team around Spurge, Brodin, Kap, Fiala, JEE, and hopeully Rossi and Boldy as well. And fill in the other pieces with our draft picks/ELCs.

with the buyout penalties plus bob, you end up with 25 mil in wasted cap in years 3 and 4.

I think your taking on that contract for far to low a cost. That contract is worth 8 times what Marleau's was and Marleau was still a useful player 3rd line player, which in my opinion is more useful than a average - below average backup goaltender.

If Bob can be an average goalie here we will be fine with it, I doubt this would ever happen, but just tossing ideas out there. Basically Billy G would be banking on the cap to increase alot after 2024 or whatever year it can go up more than a million with the Kap and Fiala contracts ending then. Can also trade Fiala/Kap for a boatload of assets and build around Boldy and Rossi.

I thought this idea had some merit when it was Parise for Bob with 1.5 or so retained on Bob. FLA saved 1M in cap for 4 years then 9M in year 5. But I don’t see it anymore.

We would’ve had to pay that money out regardless of the buyout. All this means now is people like you get to call that 15 million “dead cap” instead of Parise and Suters salary.

Here’s the thing. There’s a difference between paying a player to play for your team, and paying a player to not play for your team. It IS dead cap because you’re paying them but they aren’t even doing anything for the team. You could ride our tiger 4 years left but buying them out is making you pay them for 8 more years. I send my prayers to you and all Minnesota fans.

If you have watched the Wild within the past year you would understand why what you just said is the same thing. It was either pay Parise to watch games from the press box and Suter joins him a year later while they are still on the roster, or pay them to leave. It’s the same thing I’m not sure what you’re not understanding here.

In 24-25 you already have a cap hit of 58 Mil with only 6 Roster players...
