Well, the expansion draft is coming and a bunch of signing and trading activity. Before that fully gets underway, this is my last best guess for next season.

Taxi squad are potential minors call-ups during the season.

Looks reasonable. I’d say this is solid for us

The 2 biggest questionable areas I see are:
1) How does Barre-Boulet fit in when both Kucherov and Point are on the ice (as opposed to being in Kucherov's spot)?
2) Can Foote be relied upon full-time?

As long as neither are liabilities, I think the team can contend again.

I’d move McDonagh, Gourde and maybe Killorn before Palat.

Pretty Good But some things to think about.
Too much for Ross Colton. I can guarantee you he signs for under a million.

I would trade Joseph to Seattle instead of the third. (we are really short on draft picks)

Put Katchouk and Raddysh together on the third line with gourde. They play really well together. Or at least play them on the 4th line together.

Killorn brings more to the team than Palat IMO. PP1 and PK ability. Also, a little more cap freed up to help us stay a little more flexible in case of injuries or trade acquisitions.

I'll reply in your post.

No. Killorn is a much more important part of the team than Palat. (Important Part of the Powerplay+ Penalty Kill, + Plays solid defense+ cheaper contract.) I know you probaly just looked and saw palat had more points but Killorn is a better player and more important to the team/

I

Recency bias with Colton. I hope he signs for less, but Cup clinching goals might inflate values (or egos of agents).

I'd prefer to slowly bring in Raddysh and Katchouk. And then sign them to 2 year deals after next season that will give us cap certainty until Stamkos' contract is up. If they prove they deserve 3rd line spots though, it's theirs.

Draft picks are overrated. Joseph is NHL ready right now at a cap hit below the league minimum.

I’ve watched this team since I was born... so no I didn’t just look at points.. Lmao don’t talk like that.

Either way it’s a loss... both can play anywhere.

I’d say their even in terms of importance too. Both can and have played anywhere. Either way it’s a loss. But don’t pull the “you probably just look at points” card on me lmao

Palat is by far the best to move between him, Killorn, McD and Gourde. Palat has one year left, and there is basically zero chance the team will be able to re-sign him after this coming year(without sacrificing likely both Killorn and Gourde) given Point's upcoming raise. Killorn is more versatile, while Gourde drives the best 3rd line in hockey. McD 's contract may become an anchor several years from now, but Tampa doesn't win the Cup without him this year and he's still considerably better than having to rely on Sergachev as the 2LD this season. Get value for Palat now and then either Killorn or Gourde after next year.

I have posted similar approaches to next year, however the team should be able to keep Goodrow. Pay Colton 250k less, move Katchouk back down, and get retention on Stalock, and the team can sign Goodrow for around 2 million. Alternatively, they could start the year with 21 players and easily keep Goodrow at a hit closer to 2.5.

Oilers would take it but their 2nd round pick cannot be moved due to the Keith trade conditions. Probably takes them out of the running for Palat and Killorn since they traded their 3rd as well.
