When is the last time a one-year rental yielded an 8th overall and third rounder?

Detroit doesn't take that trade. Bertuzzi is going to cost way more than Leaf fans would be happy giving up

I made this within a 20 minute break in my math class I wasn't thinking much just trying to put together a realistic squad, I agree you can get him for less.

I haven't watched Tyler Bertuzzi much since i'm a Leafs fan, how much do you believe the Leafs would have to give up.

Honestly not bad, I might take that for Rielly but maybe one more b level prospect and the deal is done. Other than that, team looks good!

But I think Seattle takes Kerfoot and then you can trade Holl.

Detroit has no reason to trade away Bertuzzi, all the rumors have been around mention that Dubas would be interested. Probably would take a 1st and prospect that fits in one of Detroit's needs so probably someone like Sandin, Robertson, or Rodin. Like I said more than leafs fans would be happy to give up

if the leafs want Tyler Bertuzzi then give up something good. It would start with a 1st rounder.

Thanks for the feedback, I think a first would be to much to give up due to our lack of draft picks. I could definitely see Travis Dermott, A second round pick and you can add Rodin instead of Hollowell. You have to take into consideration that Tyler Bertuzzi is coming off an injury and you don't know how much that will affect him.

True, the second round pick and the first round pick can be interchangeable if the leafs know more about Tyler Bertuzzi's injury.

Rielly has one year left on his contract and would be asking for more in the off season.

I don't see Dermott being someone Detroit is super interested in, Mcissac and Cholowski have the potential too surpass him in the depth chart so having him be part of trading away Bertuzzi, who would be still be an impact player when Detroits top prospects start to make a impact assuming he's relatively unaffected from his injury. In other words I don't see Dermott being a guy that is a long term answer for Detroit amd that's what it will take for Bertuzzi

No I’m saying that’s a massive overpay from the kings. 8th overall pick + for a rental. Get outta here.

Detroit have no desire to trade Bertuzzi, he is one of only two bona fide first line wingers on the team and Detroit have nothing to repace him with for several years (at least 2 more likely 3).

You would have to overpay to get him, just like Washington did to get Mantha. A 1st + a player that replaces Bert + a 2nd + a grinder is what they paid.

Detroit cannot trade Bert without a replacement coming back as it would make the team worse for several years.

Thanks for the insight, I was going off what the Toronto media was telling me. With what the leafs would have to give up I don't think a deal would be done. I will be making a new roster without Bertuzi.

Thanks for listenening to advice, it's not something that's common here.

Toronto media have been spouting rumours about Bertuzzi since the trade deadline but they have no relation to reality.

Detroit may well move Bertuzzi but will only do so if they receive an offer that's too good to refuse. Toronto doesn't have the parts that it would take to get him, unless you decide to offer Nylander or something to that effect, which I don't expect you to do.
