Philly easily declines. We don't want that Burns contract. It's even worse than Voracek's contract.

Leafs just can’t acquire Kane without retained salary unless they got an entire plan in place

For that return I suggest you find a way to make it work. SJ won’t retain on a fair deal and Kane seems like a good fit for the Leafs. That deal is definitely in Leafs favor imo so if you have to find a way to move some money around I’d do it.

I just don't see Kane to Toronto as feasible either.

one HUGE issue here.. you have zero chance of retaining Hertl next offseason with the team set this way. you might not even have enough money to resign Ferraro and Knyzhov, let alone if any of the prospect explode and look to get paid.

Definitely agreed with the thought process of accounting for Hertl+Ferraro next offseason but here I have Raanta and Gagner's total of 4mil coming off the books and let's say Ozzy and Korenar fill up 2mil of that. That leaves about 2.7mil. Hertl should get ~ a 1.5mil raise for an even 7mil which leaves 1.2mil for Ferraro's extension. One good thing is that either Kerfoot, Armia, Labanc can be easily traded too and Robins can fill their spot and SJ has enough to resign the expiring ELCs.
