The cap hit is good for what he provides in the regular season, but his playoff outings have been pretty disappointing with just 1 point in 11 games. A very "meh" deal.

Does this not seem like a lot of money? I thought he'd get between 1-1.5 Million especially at this term

That’s because his job isn’t suppose to be point production…

Well he did score at roughly 0.5 p/gp, while being a defensively responsible 3C. I think Nick Bonino isn't a far-off comparable if he keeps it up and I'd call it fair.

Seems like a contract that will look ok as he's a very good 4th line center, but in the end that's all he is, a 4th line center. I guess he can [play 3C as well, but I think that might be a little bit too big of a role for him. Great defensively

I watched most of the Pens playoff games and he was pretty underwhelming overall. Plus, if he is at 0.5 points per game in the regular season, and that dries up in the playoffs, it means you're losing that secondary scoring. It may not be his main role, but it matters.

Its 11 games. Very very small sample size. Its a very solid contract for pittsburgh and finishes their center position for the offseason

Worse players are going to be paid more than Blueger

This is nothing crazy for a bottom 6 forward the Penguins need to protect.

This contract is very easy to get rid of, if things take a turn for the worst.

I voted yes smile

Good deal, Blueger is a solid 3rd line player with some upside

It is one RFA year and one UFA year, he was going to be a UFA after this season

He was solid this season. May be a bit of overpay but I really like his game and his chippyness.

Good two-way 3 or 4th line forward. I think this contract makes a lot of sense for the Penguins with the role he played this past season. Good signing!

I thought the AAV would be lower.

Seems like too much money for 20 point player.

I had him pegged between 2-2.5 in posts.
The only thing I don't like is the length. I wish they got him for 2 more years. He's a solid young player. You need guys who fill roles well, and he does. Hopefully he keeps getting better.
I think this says a lot about the team and the Seattle daft. They aren't signing guys unless they already got the cap figured out.

It's pretty hard to put up points when you shutting down the other teams best line 90% of your time on the ice.

He's played 3rd line minutes so I'm not sure what you are talking about here.
