No reason he won't get at least $5m unless he desperately wants a chance at a Cup, in which case he goes to Tampa for league minimum. He's still a legit top 4 defenseman.

I think he’s such a good fit in boston. They have a lot to offer. They have a contender, the cap space to give him a legitimate offer, and the opportunity to play with mcavoy.

Agreed. Evolving Hockey has his contract projection at 3 years with a $5.578M cap hit. For sure still a top four defenseman. I don't think he makes sense for the Caps though, since they really need to get younger and LHD is their deepest position organizationally.

I could see him and Parise both ending up on the Isles. Suter is familiar with Trotz, Parise almost ended up there a couple years ago, and they've gone deep in the playoffs the last couple years.
