Oilers are not paying 2 seconds for one year of Palat. I would pay one second and Stalock if you want him for Killorn.

Buffalo would give you more for Killorn if you can convince him to waive

Yup, with him being a 1 year from UFA you don't need to give up more than a 2nd and a minor piece.

One of the few realistic posts where Palat and Killorn are traded and Gourde is selection that solves the Cap issues. Now you argue about the trade values and UFA signings, but the thoughts are good.

what are you talking about. Goody and Coleman are the only "discounts" everyone else is either a depth player or old or have made their money

Ya i know my amounts for trades or signings aren't spot on but the premise is what i am going for here. there aren't really in cap hell at all. Johnson is on a buy out friendly contract. No one can say that killorn/palat/gourde don't have serious value with cap hits and production and 2 cups. and there are a ton of vets out there that just want to win

I don't think killorn will waive for Edmonton and because palat only has 1 year on his contract is why i think 2 2nd rounders makes since. that gives them cap flexibility and to see if hes a good fit

No chance Tampa is gutting all of Killorn, Palat, Gourde and Johnson to keep Coleman and some guys who aren't improvements(at less than Tampa can realistically hope to sign them at anyway). Tampa has several younger players in the system that will get more playing time/break into the line up.

I see Palat getting moved and Johnson being Seattle's pick(with sweetener). If not, Tampa can still make a deal with them to take/not take specific players, then trade Johnson to one of the 20 teams he has to submit a list for. He has more value than he did the last time Tampa tried to move him, so there should be a taker. Tampa should be able to keep Goodrow, and then have players like Colton and Joseph take on a more prominent role, while 1-2 of Barre-Boulet, Raddysb, Katchouk etc get a more regular role in the lineup.
