I very much doubt Buffalo has any plans on giving up Peterka.

I agree, I think moving up to draft Peterka was the smartest move Adams made.
On the other hand
Mandolese (does not add much to the trade), Thomson (2019 19th OA), 2021 1st round pick (OTT, 10th OA) and 2022 3rd round pick (BOS, does not add much to the trade) is closes to a fair offer for Reinhart.
That leaves Peterka for Dadonov, which is a huge over payment for an unproven recent second round pick.
IMO Dadonov would bring a significant return from many teams looking for a RW.

I could see Buffalo saying no, but I could also see, them pulling the trigger. It is close to a fair deal for both teams.
Who knows, what if Sam is traded and Jack is not, Dadonov would look really good as Jacks winger and Buffalo gets a first, decent prospect and a third as a side benefit for Peterka.

Everybody liked Dadonov going into last season. I am concerned that Ottawa signed him and is already considering getting rid of him after one year. It just stinks of buyer’s remorse. If you don’t want him why should we? Peterka is looking like he should’ve been a mid round first and the trading up for him was exceptionally smart. He’s quickly become one of our best forward prospects. It would take a significant overpayment to consider letting that go, especially when a lot of our draft decisions blow up in our faces. I don’t love the idea of trading Reinhart within the division either, especially if the team acquiring him is not overpaying because of the fact he is in the division.
