They do these things called even trades, though. Just an FYI.

That just your opinion. And has no effect on the end result of my roster outlook. Go pander elsewhere about your grandiose sensibilities.

yes that is what this site is all about is opinions if you can handle someone questioning a move you make maybe not the site for you as every move you make will have someone question it.

In this case the oilers are banking on a 40 year old net minder this year and are trying to find a goalie of the future. konovalov by the reports here in edmonton is the best bet at that internally. so no they would not trade him to get allen who is no longer a starter

That's great. Thanks Pierre McGuire. Enjoy your delusion of self importance.

Oilers don't. We always make sure to give the other team extra, we just like to help a guy out you know? Wouldn't want to fleece a team and look greedy.

On a serious note, I'd make this deal. Allen would be a good tandem with Smith for a combined caphit of like $5mil to give Skinner another year or two of development. Hopefully Cossa is available in the draft this year which would make losing Konovalov easier.

if they pick Cossa yes I could see them doing it.

with out I would not Allen is not a long term solution can pick up someone in Free agency to fill that role.
With goalies you need many prospect as it is hard to project who will turn out.

again if you can handle different opinions to yours dont post.

Helllloooo.. this trade would happen before the expansion draft and before the entry draft.

You just have no idea what you're talking about. Perhaps you should phrase things as an opinion instead of fact. You might sound like less of assbackward tool, and I'd engage in your opinion. Like this other gentlemen. Take notes.

I am not sure about the consistent part seeing how he lost his job in St. louis from inconsistency which opened the door for Binnington.

there are goalies available just as good or better that the oiler don't have to give anything up.

Oilers decline
Allen is not what we are looking for, he’s no longer a starter or a long term solution
Oilers need a young enough starter that can be signed long term UFA route
Trade for a young goalie that can be groomed over the next yr to become the long term starter
Allen is neither of those two options
