Offer Sheet Beauvillier

Team: 2021-22 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 16, 2021
Published: Jul. 16, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I bank on Beauvillier; Next year you lose your picks, but they may be high if you run at the cup again. Might as well lose them to get a good solid QC naitve guy that can play and put up numbers and is in full development mode.

Isles may move people around to keep him or let him go.
They currently have 17 players signed, 4.4M$ left, so they don't have much space and most of their contracts aren't easy to move out. From Lee to Bailey you have multiple year contracts from 7 to 5M$ (6 total contracts) on forwards, They also need Defense players. So it would be a tight one.

I'd pi** off Lamoriello in the process, but being Bergevin who has one year left and said he'd look to retire.. Why not! LOL!

Whie Ceci seems to be on the controversial side, he's still a great top 6 player. His defensive skills have shown to be a great help to the Pens last year; When used appropriateley, he can play good.

Getting Hyman and Goodrow at those prices may seems far fetched. I'M trying it as-is since it provides them with some stability and a chance to run for the cup.

Granlund would be good to fill in until KK develops. He'll provide points and leadership.

Martinez would be another good fit if Hamilton, Barrie, or Reilly have plans to sign elsewhere.

    2. 2022 3rd round pick (TOR)
    Additional Details:
Considering there are talks about moving Gaudreau out of Calgary, I'd make a move to get the 2nd and 3rd picks from next year to fill in the loss of those by Beauvillier

    2. 2021 4th round pick (MTL)
    3. 2021 5th round pick (PHI)
    4. 2022 6th round pick (MTL)
    Additional Details:
I'd offer picks for this year plus a 6th for next year with Lek. Some may say he's worth it without the picks from MTL; I think we would need to fill in some blanks for CAL since they'll need to find some new prospects out there.

if you want to offer beau 6.5m, go right ahead lmao. i love the guy but that’s ridiculous. also, the isles have 11m in cap space when you include boychuck’s LTIR space, not 4.4m

Would rather keep Danault then give up a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd to overpay Beauvillier. Would also rather keep Danault then sign Granlund.

And I'm not even advocating for keeping Danault... Montreal should look to make bigger moves and replace Danault internally with Evans or Poehling. These moves just aren't good enough.

Problem is that AVS will likely put Makar before Landeskog. They need him to stay long since they want to balance the Forwards and Defense.. They don't want to fall into the same traps the Leafs, Oilers and a few others have fell into where most of their money reside in 4 to 5 forwards and then have no true power to get out of their zone. Landeskog may give them a rebate, but I think Sakic will want to secure Makar for a long time before knowing he wants to keep MackKinnon long term.

The only way NYI doesn't match is by overpaying (+6M AAV). Can try, but it will probably just end as a journalist wet dream interupted.

You are out of the race for Goodrow and Hyman, by many laps.

At the same price, Danault over Granlund.

Why make trades like the Lehkonen one so complicated? Don’t overthink it people. Just trade a player against one pick (a 2nd) or two ( 2x3rd)... . No need for a 5 picks trade to get a similar value.

Fun fact: As Capfriendly, never a player has been in a trade including 5 draft picks swaps.

Like I posted : "Getting Hyman and Goodrow at those prices may seems far fetched."
But then again, Hyman may want to win one day and choose to sign for less if he can go over a first round in the series.

I like Beau, I really do but anyone who thinks he's worth that much is asking to regret it months later.

He's good. He's not elite. Thats elite money right there.
