Despite all the posting of Fleury going to Winnipeg, I can't see it. Hellebuyck would have to exposed in the draft and likely taken. And Fleury isn't that much better if it all than Hellebuyck if all. I really doubt if Fleury waives for Winnipeg either. Exchange Trouba for Myers, then it might be a deal with Avs.

You can trade with vegas so they don't pick a certain player. They just can't trade hutch and expose him.

I don't get the hate for MAF. He's having a tough year for sure, but he's also in a spot he hasn't been in in his career. A young stud goalie has taken his job and now he's used sparingly on a cup winning and contending team. This year IMO, is more of a blip then a fall from a top goaltender. Take away this season and focus on the last 2 prior, MAF has a 2.30 GAA, a .920 SV% and 15 SHO. Sure he plays on a good team, but he is still an above average goalie who's only 32. If the Jets can acquire him, they'll get him for 2 years which allows Helly and Comrie to develop.

That is a delusional counteroffer. They would be grateful to receive Trouba straight up. Guy has only scored over 60 points twice in 8 seasons. His 70 point sophomore season is a distant memory. UFA in two years. Hall has better career numbers and landed Larsson in return.

he was an average goalie who lucked out and played for a potential dynasty (which, while the jury is still out, they should already have reached that status if it weren't for Fleury choking). But now he's getting older and its a lot easier to see this as the real MAF. Especially given the fact most teams CF GM's are trading him to teams that have a worse defense than PIT, which means he is going to be exposed way more often. His GAA is bad behind a great d, imagine if he went to BUF where their goalies are getting no help at all in front of them. Their are not many situations that would benefit him in the NHL and all those teams have their goalie situation covered. Add in his cap hit for what is essentially a back up goalie, he has 0 value and Pens fans should not be expecting anything of value in return. The most valuable part of a Fleury trade is being able to confidently protect Murray.

It isn't hate, it's Fleury's competence as a NHLer now and for the next two years. Fleury has shown he isn't any better than Hellebuyck,,,now. Let's not talk what Fleury what did in the past 7 season for the Pens. Leaving Hellebuyck exposed to Vegas, and losing him to Vegas, is just foolish for the Jets.
