BUF
  1. Drouin, Jonathan
Additional Details:
Both players need a fresh start. Drouin is the player with the higher value, but his past seasons performance has brought his value down.
2.
MTL
  1. McCann, Jared
Additional Details:
Pens are expected to expose McCann. mtl already has a few options that seattle can take. imo seattle will select Allen as he can be their starter or can be flipped. Seems like Danault is not coming back. McCann can be a good replacement imo. At 1.85, Pens can send him to the ahl if they dont like kulak, but at least they get an asset for McCann.
3.
MTL
  1. Deangelo, Anthony ($2,400,000 retained)
Additional Details:
Rangers buy him out. Habs sign him for 1.5 mill over 1 year

Buffalo likely wouldn’t be able to help Drouin, he needs a vet core to help him through his problems.

ah no. he needs to get away from mtl. the pressure is ruining his career. no one will pressure him in buffalo.

Don’t underestimate Buffalo’s pressure which is getting more toxic by the year. It may not be MTL levels but we are definitely a hockey city

Winnipeg should be trying to grab him. JD had great success with Elhers in Halifax and the jets cant attract talent, they need to take risks.

Fairly good all around.

I like the idea of a Ristolainen for Drouin swap. Especially with Weber likely out it gives Ristolainen a spot on the second pair behind Petry and it gives Drouin a chance to be the go to guy in Buffalo to get more touches on the puck.

McCann is a good option for a new 3C, although I don't think Pittsburgh will have much interest in Kulak or any defenceman as they have plenty of options there - unless they moves out at least 2 bodies back there, it just doesn't make sense. But maybe a mid round pick like a 3rd - 4th or so and the rights to Joel Armia would be better though. Gives them a big defensive body that they could use in their bottom 6 if they can reach a deal.

DeAngelo - stay away from. Any team he signs with will likely be a low market team. After all the BS he's caused and been through he wouldn't last in Montreal with the media so it's not even worth trying when you can find cheaper, better 3rd pair options that don't cause so much BS.

Georgiev just doesn't make sense but a 2 year backup does if Allen is taken by Seattle. Primeau should be ready in 2 years and then you're stuck with 3 goalies to deal with. So a guy similar to age and experience to Allen is what's needed - which is why I highly think Bergevin pulls off a side deal to get Seattle to take Byron over Allen, I'm thinking 1 of those 2nds and a prospect like Mysak or Fairbrother.

Overall a fairly good job though, just tails off a bit to the end.

McCann just had a great year. If the penguins actually were to trade him before they lose him, it's gonna be more than a borderline AHL player. Yes, they get an asset back, but the moment they say he's available, the pens would get a dozen other offers that would all be better.

I also see no reason the Rangers would make that trade. He is a good, cheapish backup

rangers are going to lose him. thats what they traded him. with him on the habs, seattle can either select him or allen. either way it leaves the habs with a solid back up
