Last thing Montreal needs is a LHD prospect, Romanov, Norlinder, Guhle, Fairbrother, Leskinen, Struble and Harris are all LHD who are 24 or under.

Unless you are giving up a top 6 LW or top 4 RHD I don't think there is a deal to be made.

Edit I don't think Drouin is worth that lol, this are just Montreal's needs right now

lol of course thats the two things the canucks need too. but yeah i didnt really think about the LHD depth for MTL. is Drouin a cap dump at this point or do you think he still has value?

IMO he still has value, it seems like he has suffered some sort of mental health issue, if that is the case then his value doesn't drop off from a second. Teams would still view him as a player in need of a change of scenery instead of a liability.

i still see him for the potential he had in junior, but i think others think he's missed his chance in the league. realistically, hes probably somewhere in the middle where he could still put up 40-50 pts in a full season, which is something the canucks really need.

He will likely average 40-50 points but could still put up 60 or even 70 in a career year. He probably won't hit those levels more than once if ever but he has the talent to do it.

So VAN gets a legit 3rd line pivot in Tierney and OTT gets a $6M cap dump who eats a roster spot, a prospect who'll NEVER become an NHL player and a 2nd in an incredibly weak draft?

Nahhhh... considering OTT could move Tierney for a 3rd this is a HORRIFIC deal for them.

What about Byron for Beosser? We don't need anymore LHD just like you don't need anymore overpaid wingers

Yeah I’d still rather trade Tierney for a 3rd to someone else. The upgrade from a 3rd to a 2nd isn’t worth taking on Eriksson. Gadj is a nice throw in but doesn’t move the needle enough.
