Vlasic is the only contract arguably as bad as the one Jeff Skinner has. The sharks would do backflips if someone were willing to take it without retention. Two first round picks wouldn’t be enough, he’d be the worst defender on the team the second he got here, and he’s signed forever. I realize the team won’t be good for a few years, but he’s signed for five and he’s already old.

Fleury at that price and retention probably makes sense for Canes this year as a 1B and potential playoff mentor for Ned

I don’t think Vlasic agrees to waive for Buffalo.

Adding Smith to the Canes deal would be good for the Canes. What would it cost? Foegele, Bokk, and a 3rd for all of it?

Could do Gardiner, Foegele, Bokk, and a pick. Gardiner would fit into the reset timeline better than Vlasic

Eichel deserves more of a return seeing as Fleury isn't actually helping us in anyway.

Effectively you are trading Eichel and 3.5mil in cap space to get Glass(nigh bust), Krebs, 1 year of Reilly Smith and a late 2022 1st. We'd need Tuch, and this year's 1st for it to make sense.

The idea with trading for Vlasic is very flawed, we can't take on a 7mil cap hit for 5 years and hope to be competitive within the next 2 years. It just is not worth it in the slightest.

We aren't going to be competitive in 2 years and the buyout price after 3 years isn't bad.

I think you are going to be very upset when the eichel trade happens if that's still what you expect.

Agreed. With Jack’s neck you can’t expect to get more than that. You’ll be very disappointed when the trade does come thru

Vegas won't make the trade if they see Jack's medical records and aren't certain he'll be back to form. So theres only two options: 1. they pay up, or 2. Sabres assume the risk of Eichel recovering next year
