Reading the GMBG tea leaves

Description
According to GMBG, the increased cap space this year won't lead to increased contracts for KK or Fiala, which makes sense.

GMBG wants to bring back Rau and Johnson (probably in two way contacts, but still). I think he needs to leave 3-5M in cap "open" next year to allow for the 8M (!) Increase in dead cap space.

    Let them take Soucy or Talbot. There are better goalies than Talbot on the list, so I think they'll take Soucy. Also this let's Rask hold a spot open for Rossi when he's ready.

    I've been thinking of Stastny for a while to. I think is a avv will be higher. I was thinking crazy becuase it's the wild 6-7m on a 2 year deal. I'm starting to like the idea more then trading for someone

    I also think there’s some value with Stastny, but def not for 6-7 on a 2 year. If that’s the cost, we should pass. We really just need to bandaid until we can properly gauge Rossi on what to expect and when we can expect it. Stastny at 6M would be a problem next year.

    Yeah, I think so too. Also if he moves Rask, I'd expect him to sign Bonino for 2M AAV for 2 years.

    Evolving-hockey.com has Stasny projection of $2.1 for 1 year or $3.8 for 2 years… so I don’t expect he’ll get $5. Their projections are typically fairly close

    Wow! I'm way over on him. I really should buy an evolving hockey subscription. If we can get him for 2-3 AAV for two years, I'd do it.

    I find it extremely valuable. That said, their model doesn’t always predict the irrational nature of GMs on FA day, so I could see Stasny gettin as high as 1x$4 or 2x$5, I just don’t know if Guerin would go that high
    He’s eligible for a 35+ contract, so that might play into it.

    I'm not so sure SEA doesn't take a goalie from MN. I had them taking goalies from MTL and DAL, but Price (awful contract) and Bishop (can't stay healthy) waived their NMCs so now it's a tossup to me.
