I'm voting Arizona because I'm tired of seeing that franchise flounder and the fact they've had the wherewithal to acquire more draft capital suggests good things. I can see them trading into the first round next weekend.

The coyotes could have easily gotten a first out of eating Ladd's contract. I see what the Isles are doing here. Great work by Lou and the front office. @AndrewLadd take it from here.

I expect Ladd to have a bounce back season for the Yotes. They'll probably get a 1st for him at the deadline

I think you’ve got the wrong idea here. The Islanders just cleared $15 million for a 2nd and a 3rd round pick over the last 2 days. (Plus swapping Leddy/Panik, but this is still a massive W for the Isles)

Just watch Bettman do something like become a dictator and veto any trade that gets ARI into the 1st round.

It would be a lot easier to cheer for them if they didn’t have the worst ownership in the league.

Unless the conditions are spectacular massive NYI win, how can there be no 1st involved?

If Ladd is LTIRe next, that changes things a lot. Otherwise, despite my general sympathy towards NYI and their coach, I voted Arizona since they get to the floor and got paid for it while not taking any roster spot from the kids.

P.S. Thank you Lou for establishing a price for large cap dumps this off season.

well, no, that's still the whole point. you really think Lou Lamoriello wanted to burn 3 draft picks on dumping Andrew Ladd's contract? hell no. he had to because that's the reality of the salary cap world.

sure, he gets the cap space now to sign Sorokin/Beauviller/Pelech, but he still had to burn assets to do it.

again, to re-iterate, *cap space is king* nowadays.
