Going for what? With that roster you're just "going for" a playoff spot.

A healthy Eichel to bolster center ice easily makes them a cup contender.

In all honesty, they only have this year with their cap situation.

No it doesn't. It makes us a one line team. This is one line that can produce offense, 2/3rds of a line that can play defense, and two lines that just hope to not get their faces smashed in when they go out there. Goligoski on the second pairing is a trainwreck, and the goaltenders aren't good enough to steal games. The Wild were only as good as they were last season because of the weak division, something like nearly 75% of their wins came against non-playoff teams. In a normal year with a normal schedule, this is a bubble team right here.

So you've punched a massive hole in our future for one season of a bubble team.

Well, right now, you have Kaprizov who could bolt anyways if he doesn't get a top center to play with and Eichel will make the Wild much better down the middle and more dangerous offensively, and the team will be in cap hell for three years after this year. As far as a goalie, Minnesota can still look to trade for one

If they don't try and do something big this year, then what the **** are they doing in Minnesota? They're certainly not rebuilding or tanking for Shane Wright or Brad Lambert.

Let him bolt then. Kaprizov isn't the GM.
