There is absolutely NO WAY that Los Angeles is giving that much up for Forsberg.

The asking price should be high he is a star player.

I agree he is a phenomenal player, BUT 3 high picks and the 2nd rated prospect in the system? Doubt it. Maybe, maybe if Forsberg were to sign a long term deal, even still. I think Forsberg will fetch a 1st and prospect but the likes of Turcotte will be to acquire a Jack Eichel/Zach Werenski/Seth Jones type player in my opinion.

I wouldn't necessarily consider 2nds a 3rd to be high picks per se, but I see how LA would be reluctant to use Turcotte in a trade for a pending UFA.

I think Forsberg should bring a better return than Jones though.

I think that your team would be far better off keeping the 19th overall selection (20th slot) in this year's draft and paying $1,916,667 in each of the next four years to buy Neal out. You'll have enough cap space.

We're not trading Turcotte even up for Forsberg. Yes, the latter is a nice player, but rebuilding teams on the upswing shouldn't be buying rentals, especially at the cost of top-5 draft picks in past years who haven't fully developed yet. And we wouldn't be making conditional seconds become firsts, especially in 2022. Ask San Jose why.
