I don't love his contract (obviously), but I think I'd take Johansen.

Since Francis has openly claimed to value cap space over all else, if there were any better options I opted with the cheaper ones.

Only Price and JVR are exceptions on this, but honestly MTL and PHI doesn't have much else to offer.

Get ready to give Lind a roster spot because Vancouver will take him right back if you put him through waivers…

Fair enough. Personally I think they should take someone who can fill a hole at 1C or 2C, and I'm not sure how many options they have. Or maybe they even retain and flip the guy. Idk if that actually makes sense, but just thinking out loud.

I'd probably pass on Price if it were me too but wouldn't be overly shocked to see him taken.

BTW, I do get this is your prediction and not necessarily what you would do, but I'm just throwing out my opinions anyway, lol. Overall, this team plus the cap room could result in a decent base to build off of.

I mean there are decent centers for them available like Henrique and Gourde, but ultimately it comes to what pieces they consider the most viable for building.

I'm not sold on the former. Gourde is a guy I would take if it didn't mean passing on Foote. I wouldn't do that. I can see myself biting the bullet on Johansen though, as I wouldn't feel as though I'm passing up a good long term piece.

One thing I noticed, If Francis wants to also save money Kerfoot is a stupidly good viable option for the fact he is only making 750k this year lul and 2.7mill the following year making him also moveable when you consider 1.95 is sb.

While everyone points to McCann hes gonna make 3.38 mill and has arbitration. So evolving hockey predicts next contact 3.75m unless its changed again lul.

Pretty iffy. I'll say the level difference between the two tells everything we need to know in terms of who's going to get picked.

We can get all nitty gritty about small things why Kerfoot might be the better option, but honestly nothing in the grand scheme of things would point out on Kerfoot being their choice.

I honestly think theres a side deal. As to who or what your guess is as good as mine. One name mentioned was Liligren. Makes sense if you consider he could someone who becomes the next Theodore and makes Leaf fans scream at Dubas for giving him away lul.

That wouldn't surprise me that much, but as said in the description I didn't take any trades into account while making the list.

Yeah nobody can really predict them as they sometimes are so random

Like if someone said they knew Vegas would get both Smith and Marchessault from Florida or Minissota paid Tuch to move Haula I would doubt them immediately

Like lets be real I bet you were gonna see another Karlsson trade happen in Seattle

Im gonna make 2 predictions

St Louis 2021 1st is going to Seattle to take Tarasenko and not Dunn
Toronto is moving Liligren and maybe a low pick (2023 5th) with Kerfoot so McCann is not selected

Cause stockpiling picks and prospects will probs be Seattle's plan. As if they do decide to go the Vegas route in 2 years (bad idea) they need assets
