I think Seattle take McCann, cheaper, younger and better option.

Glendenning is objectively bad.
Nash is a better version of Glendenning. They're both 4c. Definitely don't need nor want both

Doubt Parise wants to come here, but I wouldn't be against it at that cost

I'll pass on 39 year old Mike Smith who has been garbage 2 out of the last 3 years. I recognize last year was the good year, but no one beats father time and I don't want to take that gamble

Screwed? We are exactly where we were yesterday at noon minus a mid level prospect who wasn't going to make the team and a 7th...

They might, but I believe toronto would be willing to part with prospects or picks to have kerfoot move out. We have a few good prospects in the system that they could pick from

Nope. If this team below isn’t the Leafs lineup on opening night, y’all are for sure screwed:

McCann-Matthews-Marner
Bertuzzi-Tavares-Nylander
Robertson-UFA-UFA
Mikheyev-Semyonov-Simmons

Rielly-Brodie
Muzzin-Holl
Sandin-Dermott
Liljgren

I wanted glendenning for his pk ability and size. As for smith, there are not a lot of good options that would fit along with soupy for a reasonable price. Who else would you pick that fits in $$$ wise... and if you say Reimer i will legitimately laugh. As for Parise, I think he would.love a chanse to play with Matthews

I would certainly take a 6 year younger Reimer than Smith but:

Reimer, Driedger (if he isn't signed by Seattle), KK will likely get shaken loose by Seattle, Ullmark, Mrazek, Raanta, VV may be shaken loose by Seattle, Casey DeSmith the same.

Andersen may want to resign to reprove himself.

Halak or Reimer are fine, but I'm not sure why Raanta or Mrazek or whomever else is all that different...

Not sure why you seem to think kerfoot is so awful, or why you say we MUST trade for one specific player who MAY or may not be available. That's more... Odd that anything else

You need a gritty power forward in your top 6 or you will never make it anywhere

Yeah id like that. But he's not the only one out there. I'd be happy with Coleman too.

Perhaps someone will shake loose from Seattle.

I don’t like Coleman as a 2nd liner. Maybe 3rd. I like Killorn, Palat, Donskoi, Bertuzzi as good top 6 additions. ideally this would be a good top 9:

McCann-Matthews-Marner
Killorn-Tavares-Nylander
Robertson-Bozak-Coleman

Again, post a team and tag me. I want to see how you make it all fit. Funny though, I have been thinking about bringing Bozak back in. Wonder if he would sign for 750k

I think we can hopefully get one. But yes I'd like killorn there.

That's not a hard team to make work if Detroit is willing to trade.

Also Mikheyev flopped last year , not sure he’s more than a 4th liner at this point

You have to move Kerfoot out in that scenario. Bozak gets 2 mill for 1 year. Killorn or Bertuzzi at 4-4.5 .

Agreed on Mikheyev.. Hopefully he can bounce back with 12-15 goals this year. So, when are you going to put your team up?

Disagree as people just have unrealistic expectations for a third liner.

He got zero pp time, his es scoring was third line level at 1.28 pts/60.

All of Tierney, Rielly Smith, Mittlestadt, Duchene, Cirelli, KK (the forward), Yamamato, D Strome were all around there (above and below).

Middle six players offensive totals are as much to do with pp time as anything else.

A lot of those guys (like Cirelli) bring other things to the table Mikheyev doesn't but mikheyev is only make 1.7 mil and has 1 game breaking skill (speed) and can PK. He's no stud but he's a fine 3rd line winger.

Mikheyev had 7 goals in 54 gp. That's an 11 goal pace in 82. So if he scored a single more goal it is a bounce back?
