    Ideally late 1st/equivalent prospect.

Otherwise pair of 2nds/equivalent prospect. He played pretty well when Panarin was out this season and cut down on the terrible penalties, which were my 2 biggest gripes with him last season.

If he comes with an extension in place then I would say maybe a 1 for 1 swap for Norris. This would be similar to the zibinijad and stepan trade.

He just had a really good season, which means that his price went up. I would say that a mid 1st round pick/equivalent of it is the price. So from the Sens roster, I would say Artem Zub. However, I wouldn't take that trade, because it would leave the center depth really bad, while our defense doesn't really need him. But I use him as an equivalent based off of analytics, although he's a little bit high. I don't think a trade could work between Ottowa/Rangers for Strome without bringing in a third team to fill the center whole for the rangers. Ideally, Eichel.

    Mock trade
Senators get Ryan Strome and a Rangers 2021 1st
Sabres get Artem Zub, Vitali Kravstov, Ottowa 2022 1st, Rangers 2022 1st
    Rangers get Jack Eichel

Although, if I were the Senators, I wouldn't take this. Rushing the rebuild is how Buffalo turned into Buffalo... again

Either all of this, or Norris and 3rd round pick. But I wouldn't take this either if I was the Sens.

Norris in the Strome trade package has a zero percent chance of happening.

Agreed, which is why they shouldn't do anything like that. I think that is probably best case scenario for them if that is the route they want to take. But it's a horrible route for them and makes no sense. I doubt Sabres trade Strome without an upgrade and that upgrade is likely Eichel or Kuzy.

It's actually extremely similar to the trade I mentioned above. The rangers traded away brassard for, at the time, a pretty unproven zibinijad, who was even more of a proven commodity than Norris. They are similar in points before the trade happened with the edge going to strome in this case over brassard. Zib had been playing in the nhl for 3 seasons for the sens before coming over in that trade where norris only has 1 nhl season under his belt and is more unproven. You dont have to like the idea of it but there is a huge similarity between the 2 situations.

I find it interesting that you ignored the fact that the Sens paid the Rangers a high 2nd to make the Brassard/Zibanejad swap.

We have absolutely zero interest in revisiting that trade idea.

Oh I wasnt even worrying about that to be honest as I think the hockey trade in its self would be ok but I wanted to draw on the similarities of this idea and the zib/brass swap. The biggest difference is of course the contract differences as brass was signed for 4 more years where as strome has 1 year left, which is why I was saying the it would only be fair if the trade was made with strome having an extension in place prior to the trade. I think the value is pretty fair to be honest I think maybe a pick is exchanged to balance it out but it's not that far off.

I wouldn’t even be including Norris in an Eichel trade right now

Still it isn’t happening. Norris is better than Strome and is younger.

Norris and Pinto are completely off limits for a Strome trade.

Do you mean Brassard? If Dorion hasn't learned by now...
