What would it take for the pens to get Wood?

Minnesota isn't dealing Fiala, And Johnson isn't waiving for New Jersey.

I think MIN would need premium assets for Fiala. I would change the 1st to a 2022 and ideally include Mercer, Boqvist at the bare minimum. Even then, the contract situation would need to be pretty dire.

I do not think Fiala alone turns us into a contender.
And Foote we will have to get from Seattle.

That's woefully insufficient value in return for Wood. You need way more to get him.

Umn no. Because wood wouldn't play on wild. Matthew h is a 23 years old 7th round pick prospect who wouldn't play on wild

Janne doesn't have any value to wild

Wild already has two 1st round pick this year, And islanders pick is worse. Nothing you proposed is getting fiala

Take those players out and Fiala still isn’t worth a 1st, 2nd and a 5th, especially if he’s trying to get $8M+

Umn yeah he's. Because 2nd, and 5th are nothing. You would not get a player of faila's value for just nothing more than 1st round pick.

Wild can easily use him in a trade for top c

What a ridiculous way to look at trade

Wood wouldn’t play for Wild? Why would he do that? It is not like he is UFA choosing not to go to MIN, or has NTC and blocks a move to MIN. He is under contract. He’d play.

Hellickson is a 7th rounder? Why does that matter? He played all four years in college and just played on USA team in World Championships. He could be college UFA this summer, and maybe he wouldn’t sign in MIN, but no reason to think/know that now.

Kuokkanen has no value?
I mean, get real.
That is just flat out wrong.

This is a very healthy offer for Fiala
Would be hard to see Wild pass on it.

Maybe a Sean Monahan or a Dylan Strome
Or Duchene
But I don’t see much more that

Wingers grow on trees.
Centers are much more valuable.

If the Devils were in a cap squeeze, and NJ beat writers were saying it’s 50/50 that Hughes was being traded because of his contract demands, I wouldn’t blame you for trying.

Also, Hughes is far more valuable than Fiala.
Wood > Greenway
Kuokkanen >> Strum
Rau is not 23 and just coming off appearing for national team.

So it’s not quite apples to apples.

Clearly you don't know much about Kevin fiala, because if you did, you wouldn't have posted this laughable comment

Kevin fiala has way more value than Sean Monahan, and especially Dylan strome. Shows very easily, and clearly you don't know what; who you are talking about

Laughable that you think Wingers, or good wingers like Kaprizov, and fiala grow on trees which is why teams like yours continue to have trouble even with your c core

I would be willing to grant you that Kuokkanen is more valuable than Sturm, but given that you think Wood is better than Greenway, I'm not sure I'm willing to anymore.

The Wild aren't in a cap crunch with Fiala, and that same speculation that says it's 50/50 we trade him because of his contract demands came BEFORE Guerin even talked to his agent. It's based on the fact that he held out until early September two years ago. It's a vastly different situation now, and a vastly different negotiation. Russo was SPECULATING, not REPORTING. There's a difference. Besides, the other half of the SPECULATION that New Jersey fans love to ignore is that he would be moved for a center, not a package of whatever spare parts you're willing to give up.

Look how many top wingers are moved every year.
Look how many appear to be involved in trade discussions today…or are free agents potentially switching teams.

Tarasenko, Garland, Landeskog, Buchnevich, Kessel, Laine, Hall, Gaudreau, JVR, Killorn, Reinhart, Forsberg, Rust, Coleman, Meier, Rakell, Bertuzzi, Konecny, Debrusk, Kane, Hyman, Voracek, Eberle, Miller, Palmieri….and on and on

Centers: Eichel (which is unique), Monahan, Kerfoot, Henrique

Yes, wingers grow on trees.
They are always available.

Yeah wood wouldn't play on wild, that is just a fact. Same way younger, better player Jason Zucker was traded, and demoted to 4th line before being traded

By the way. The trade proposal is laughable. Don't pretend like everyone doesn't know who Miles wood is as New Jersey has been trying to trade him, but can't get value they want

So before you call someone's comment stupid, study; fact check your info

It's not a fair value for Kevin fiala. It's straight up laughable, disrespectful offer. Especially coming from you, and several other New Jersey fans. Clearly younger players, good ones like fiala holds more value than this bad proposal

Hellickson wouldn't play on wild because they wouldn't want him, or ever have a chance to make wild

Wood doesn't have more value than greenway not by longshot

Kuokkanen has zero value to wild either: matt boldy, and Adam Beckman over him

Nico sturm had more impact as a player, and 8 lesser points playing on 4th line. So points aren't everything, and Nico sturm has more value than Kuokkanen

Your statement that paying for national team means a player has more value is factually incorrect. Because players has played for national team historically and turn out to be nothing

I like Wood over Greenway, but their value is similar.

The Wild are in a bit of a cap crunch because the have $14 million in dead money on future books and two expensive RFAs to sign. If the two wingers are asking for $8-9m each, they will be forced to make a move or two to accommodate them.

At least that is how I have read it. Wild fans would know more than me.

It's almost laughable because you posted that as this year; summer is different because of expansion. No , those players haven't been moved

You really put Adam henrique, and Kerfoot as having more value than Kevin fiala? Haha ok you are shooting yourself in the foot with your answer

We already have made moves to accommodate them. Neither of them will get 9M this year. We have 26M in cap space. We can fit both easily without needing to trade anyone. The Wild will have to make moves to make it work in 2-4 years, but those moves don't include trading a dynamic, play driving, first line winger for a bunch of nothing.

I have been nothing but honest, open and upfront about what Miles Wood is
NJD gets a lot of very big offers for him...and I have often said, "too much"

Also, I made a post about this specific topic if you'd like to read more about it: https://www.capfriendly.com/armchair-gm/team/2441142

Kuok, in his age 22 season, played on Hughes' line, which saw the toughest defensive match-ups night in, night out and performed admirably.
0.5 pts-per-game and 51.6 CF% at that age, against the toughest defenses in the best division...

To say he has no value is a little silly.

I never said Henrique and Kerfoot have more value than Fiala.
You are making that up since you have got no other argument to make here.

I made two quick lists of available players at W and a C.
I was clear in what I said.
Wingers are always available....centers are harder to come by.

I tried making a Wild ACGM for next year: https://www.capfriendly.com/armchair-gm/team/2580146

If they can get Kaprizov on a bridge deal, would be yuge.
Seems a lot rides on his and Fiala's deals this summer.

Yeah I saw, your numbers are off. You have Kaprizov's max 8 year AAV on a 7 year contract, and it's already well established that he's not signing for that long. You also did the same with Fiala and a few others.
