Description
Some trades now that the expansion draft is done and the draft is coming up. Also, we've seen some trades from BA and new rumors. Picks are the way to go for us it seems. I did my best with the values, but feel free to bash me. Hopefully something similar can be worked out.

Easy decline by the avs, compher is still a good player and In no way is a pending ufa goalie with injury issues gaining a 1st

After seeing Hill go for a 2nd and Kuemper's play and numbers, for example during the World Championships, makes it fair in my mind he should be able to bring back a late 1st. But it is true he has been injured, most likely due to Tocchet playing him too long stretches without resting. I added Compher for some cap relief as someone cheaper could perhaps take his place, but it seems you would rather keep him. I think Kuemper could give COL that last edge, but understand if you don't take the deal.

Hill is a 25 year old RFA goalie
Kuemper is a 33 year old Pending goalie coming off injuries

BIG differece there of why a team would give up a 2nd for what could be 4-6 years of their starter vs a rental who has injury issues and is already aging out

I see where you're coming from and agree to an extent, but he just turned 31 2 months ago and is playing his best hockey the last 2 years. He also has some/plenty of years left as he is a goalie as well. But it might be true BA is holding out for a 1st and no one is willing to do that, or he's just waiting until after the x-draft for say a team like Toronto to give that. Either way I think it is fair to assume it is possible to receive late 1st value for someone like him.

He will be 33 when he needs a new contract, no one is investing assets into that old of a goalie with injury issues
no team will give a 1st for him

I get that but when you are a team like the Avs, all they need is a legit goalie. Kuemper is definitely better than Grubauer. I would say it would solidify a run to at least the conference finals.

Maybe take off either the 3rd or Compher. But kuemper definitely warrants a 1st rounder from the Avs

Put Kuemper on last year avs squad and he is a veizna finalist. Kuemper was a Veizna finalsit too last year. Kuemper was still better than Grubaur 2/3 years and on a significantly worse team.

We'll have to agree to disagree, but I appreciate the feedback. Not all people think the same, which is what makes doing proposals so fun. I can imagine GMs are going through the same.

Edit: meant to quote your post before about the value

Yeah but he's still better goalie lmao. The avs are in the best position to win right now and if they can get a legit starting goalie on a good contract they should go for it. Grubauer only has those stats because of the team in front of him. Darcy has good stats with a team that can only make the playoffs due to a pandemic. He would be amazing if you put him on the avs. He's only 31, you acting like hes 34-35. even then look at Tuuka Rask. I get what you mean i just disagree and we can leave it at that.

31 is when goalies historical decline, that is what Aging curves are. Tukka is a hall of fame goalie. Kuemper is not. He is a mediocre goalie for 90% of his career, had 2 good season and now back to mediocrity with injuries

Do not compare the 2

Kuemper still better right now and if they want to win a cup right now they get him. Who cares if he declines in a year or two if they get a cup now

Welp thats your opinion. He had an injury, and again will say look at the difference in teams. Agree to disagree, have a good one.

you claimed he was better statistically than Grubi, but career and last season say other wise. Grubi has the better stats in both

very hard no from VAN. eriksson can be dumped for a 2nd+3rd. roussel for a 2nd. schmidt worth a 2nd or 3rd. meanwhile, OEL could be replaced on the open market for 3-5 million per... and he's got 6 seasons remaining! Being generous, thats (8.25-5-1.1)*6=13 million cap-years... which is twice what Eriksson has remaining. brutal trade for vancouver without retention

Kuemper could easily go to Edmonton for a #1. As a Wings fan, let me give you Ken Holland's #.

I see where you're coming from. However, it seems that Benning had interest before and now with possibly losing both Schmidt and Edler they have an even greater need of a defenceman. They could of course pursue other options aswell, but OEL is a candidate one would think. I also don't think Arizona is retaining any salary. If need be we could take Myers instead of Schmidt/replace Myers with someone else, but I wouldn't rule something along these lines out. I do understand VAN fans being hesitant, though.

This (or the 2 first trades) was pretty close. I swear I'm not BA, haha. No, but you've got to feel for players like Chychrun, Dvorak etc. now, but this is for the best. Hopefully, if they stay around, they'll be part of something great in the future.
