Seravalli projects the pick being Bailey

Created by: joshelkin
Team: 2021-22 New York Islanders
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 19, 2021
Published: Jul. 19, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
If so, you need to replace him with a big fish. A lateral move doesn't feel like a good look. Either Landeskog or two quality players (Palms and Coleman?) etc.

Wtf Francis. If this is true, coupled with the report he’s taking a UFA who they already have a deal in principle with, taking Zadorov over De Haan and the $7M cap hit of a 37 year old on ice corpse then Francis is just as brain dead as Lou was to expose Eberle in the first place

really dont get exposing 7 & 12. i saw Staple's article about doing it to show commitment to 53, and if they wanna upgrade at RW1 and RW2, im not against it. But 7 & 12 have too much value to simply expose and lose for nothing.

They would have to pay to trade clutterbuck, and martin has value in NY and thats it.

NRD also speculated there is no side deal in place. Palms/Zeek/Landeskog would be replacements. Not sure money but its the talk

Interesting - again I would be shocked if Seattle takes bailey. But if they do, I can see lou trading eberle and signing Landeskog + palmieri, which would mean no Parise

Take your pick of Parise, Bellows and Golyshev. Still a hell of a Top 9

That kind of just comes with the territory of acquiring Landeskog. We don't have a ton of RW depth, acquiring an LW doesn't really alleviate that problem.

Are you implying the isles shouldn’t go after Landeskog

Hell no, with the Lou dropping cap like crazy, and given his past of pursuing the biggest winger on the market every year, I think he will (and should, look how close we were last year). What I AM saying is we might have to accept that our 3rd line might have an LW playing at RW, which if that's the price of getting Landy, that's fine by me.

Gotcha, yeah I wonder who would switch. Not all wingers can play both sides

Did Landy seriously never play RW? I thought for sure he has. Maybe not regularly but has games under his belt there

I mean, if he CAN play RW, I'd love that. Barzal having two 30-40 goal scorers who can both hit on his line would be lethal
