I don't think Stephenson is going to be a viable 2C option for the Caps. I think this would actually add a bit of cap on the Caps side too, which wouldn't be ideal with Ovechkin and Samsonov still needing new contracts. Fleury would be interesting, but the value in doesn't really match the value out at this point.

This is a pretty bad trade for the caps. I’d much rather keep VV if we don’t lose him to Seattle. Goalies are then set for years here.

Kuzy is waaaay more valuable than Stephenson, the 2nd round pick doesn’t make up that value.

And yeah we’re adding cap here. Not a good deal for us at all.
