Maybe bernier signs a 1 year deal to chase a cup but hes giving up so much money if he signs that deal I can't see it. A grand package to seattle wouldnt be the worst thing if you can move out 10 to 12 million in one shot.

I feel like a grand package in one full swoop makes sense. fix the problem, take it in the teeth, lose your best prospect and move on. Ya bernier could take 1 yr deal. i know its a stretch he leaves Detroit. If freddy is willing to stick it to toronto and restart his career I would sign him to.

I really don't see all those players signing for that Cheap, in theory this would be a great plan/idea, but Tampa is going to be stripped down a bit more than this...

What player do you see needing to get paid? Suter/PArise are getting paid by Min. Stastny has been paid and is over the hill but can still fit in. Hak?

Would rather keep Rutta at 1.3 than have Hakanpaa at 1.8

Suter and Parise might not need it, as their career earnings are now around $100m and Stastny being around $80m, but guys like Bernier, Nosek, Bogosian they'll look to get more. But even the first 3 mentioned, there are teams that are closer to home, or that they've played with in the past that are likely offering the same term for triple the value, that's thing about money, it still talks, and you never have enough of it... Also, think a guy like Suter maybe seeks Vegas and replaces Martinez for $2m+ to help them get over the hump possible... Plus I don't think other teams in the league will be throwing out lifelines to Tampa to help them get to being cap compliant, they're likely going to make them pay premiums to take on players contracts to get them down to the $81.5 ceiling...

Spot on .. Suter to Tampa for $1M .. he gets paid from buyout anyway .. Tampa can rest Hedmen post surgery and Mc Donough can rest until playoffs all I care .. Tampa biggest challenge is replacing Colemen and Goodrow . They were AWESOME .. need Pk .. Paquette may re emerge and 2 other vet UFAs .. I don't see Tampa missing a beat when their best 10 players returning .. 9 protected players plus Killorn .. DYNASTY

I really hope JBB prioritizes just moving the salaries early to give more time for negotiating and being in on cheaper deals. also Back-up goalie is so important. VAsy can't keep playing this much.. I was really impressed by Hak in the playoffs. Think there are many vets who want to win, pay less taxes and live in a beautiful place. Stastny jumps off as a great utility knife at this point in his career
