Description

No chance a rebuild occurs with this ownership. Best oppurtunity to re-tool with no superstar.

Trades -
Gaudreau - Buffalo gets a player to play with Eichel or a player to flip for futures. 1 year away from FA just like Reinhart. Conditional pick ensures Buffalo won't be left hanging if they don't find a trade.

Kylington - Flip of projects with a new place to try and establish themselves.

Signings -

Edler replaces Gio in a smaller role but with the style Sutter likes. Short term doesn't block Mackey or Valimaki if they earn bigger role.

Hamonic - Bring him back on a 1-year deal similar to Edler to provide injury insurance and a steady partner for young guys.

Janmark - Swiss army knife is a perfect 3rd liner that can move around and play with anyone.

Reimer - Reliable and can play games in the event Markstrom needs an injury break. Old enough he won't be most teams first choice for 1A/1B which would make it realistic he is available for the Flames.

Pretty sure you’re not allowed to have conditions based on whether or not a player re-signs.

You're not allowed to have conditions on trades if a player signs with said team anymore, but that's a bad trade anyway, as Sam is a RFA and Johnny is about to enter UFA status

Ah good catch, did not notice that had changed with the new CBA. I removed the conditional pick, however the intent is the same. Buffalo would flip Gaudreau (or do a three way trade) to restart the rebuild if Eichel is out or try some new chemistry with Eichel if he is staying.

Reinhart would have 1 year left on as RFA after this year and Buffalo has to decide what to do with him either this year or next. Value is as high as it gets after the great year he had on the 31st place team.
